What ever the bumpers on my coach were plated with its started to peel I was wondering has anyone had them replated? or should I have them sand blasted and paint them silver or aluiminum or should they be powder coated ?

My experience with powder coating is that if is fairly easy to chip or scratch off. My bike rack has a number of chipped spots in the coating, and they quickly started to rust.
I polished and waxedmy bumpers, and they look pretty good, but if yours are peeling I would suggest that your sand (blast ?)and repaint option would be a good one. The silver paints really do look good, I just did one of my wheels in metallic silver (my spare)

My 74 Argosy had anodized aluminum bumpers, but anodizing doesn't peel. What type of metal is the bumper made of?

Larry,
I am glad 74Argosy24MH just wrote his post, because I could swear that mine are solid aluminum. Are you sure it's not someone's coating thats peeling off. Is it rusting?

They probably are anodized. If polishing doesn't work anodizing is dirt cheap. The place I talked to has a $50 minimum, and little brackets, supports, etc. are about 25-50 cents to get done. My biggest problem has been getting enough together to get to the minimum. You probably could get them both done for $50 if all they had to do was dump them in the tank. Chrome is expensive, my grill was $250 and I am not impressed with the job, there is a lot of copper showing.
