I have a 1987 345 Motorhome that I just bought. It needs new batteries. Not sure how long I'll keep the Motorhome but I need some guidance on replacing all 3 batteries. What kind, size, specs, etc. Thanks Tim
Shortly after we bought our 310 I took the old batteries in to a NAPA store and asked for the best ones of that type that they had. Still have them several years later.

Welcome to the forum!
Be sure your converter is in good shape or it will fry your new batteries. My OE one is humming and seems to overcharge the batteries as evidenced by battery acid coming out of top of batteries when whole coach is plugged in to 120. I keep mine charged with a trickle charger directly from house power until I sort out installing a new converter.
1) Check the condition of the drawer that the batteries are in. The drawer tends to collect water that runs down the side of the coach and rust out. My son welded some angle iron under ours for support and I sprayed what was left of the original with rust treatment and undercoating so that I would not have to watch my new batteries go bouncing down the highway. There are threads here on more elegant and effective drawer rebuilds, but I have trouble getting search results on this forum anymore. A google search might work better.
2) Check the battery cables on the back of the drawer. There are a bunch of them. Aside from normal corrosion, the terminals can break because the cables flex every time the drawer is opened and closed.
3) Enjoy!
My 87' 345 had the original charger when I got it. It was a battery cooker. I installed and highly recommend an Intellicharger (or equivalent). It senses what charge is needed, tapers the charge and maintains the batteries very well.
