Banks Power System

Hi Everyone,

Well wouldn't you know it. Now that I have decided to install a Banks Power System on my 1985 325 MH 454 engine Banks has ceased production. I spoke with their customer service yesterday and they say I am basically out of luck. Does anyone know where there might be one hiding?

Keep an eye out on CL, thats where i found one coming off a camper being scrapped

Do you mean a Banks Turbo? I had one of those on a 1985 dodge diesel and loved it. Sold it to a friend who still uses it, albeit off road.

Cl = Craigslist. The main component of a Banks system for a gas engine is the headers. There are still other companies making headers that will work.

I just bought a 1992 300LE that has the Banks System. Did they tell you why they stopped production? I'm very surprised to hear this.

Production has stopped only for the 1980's GMC gas vintage. 90's still available

Does the Banks setup make much more engine noise?

I haven't noticed. The doghouse seems to seal very well, and it has tons of insulation underneath it, so that probably helps with deadening the noise.

The 2005 I bought has a Banks system: the PO drove it down to Banks for the install. I don't know what the OEM sound was like but this is mellow and not too loud, even when I need full throttle.
