Awning School Graduate!

We took 'Jellybean III' ('Big Momma's older sister!) to St. George Island this weekend. I put out my awning like a pro! It would have brought tears to Brett's eyes! I had my silicone spray and all! If I had the little awning wheel for the top of the door, I would have gotten an A+!

Thanks again Brett!

Fred,

Glad my instuctions paid off, I am especially glad that the education was put to use doing someting you enjoyed, versus showing a "new owner" how to work Jellybean III's awnings!

Sorry we could not join you, I had to work, and Edie had to go out of town. Maybe next time. Based on other posts it sounds as if the 345 is having a "your not paying attention to me" fit. I will help if I can.

Awning and St. George.

Hi Fred.....
Sounds like you deserve a gold star for your retention of the info from the Brett School of Awning Use.
St George SP is one of my favorite places in Fla. What a great beach, not discovered by hordes of people, at least yet.
On my last visit to St. George, I made friends with about 19 raccoons. I hope that you treated them well.
I hope that you continue to enjoy Jellybean II.

Before we left, we drove around twice grading each space so that when we return, we can reserve a nice spot. We had #29 which was the only pull through inthe park. The camp hosts (in an Airstream trailer '68) laughed as we drove by a second time!

There had to have been hundreds of racoons but I didn't see one. We did walk around at night but didn't see any. I have been in Florida long enough to know we were watched by all kinds of critters. A Deputy warned us a of 6' snake crossing the road ahead of us but we missed him. The gator was resting on the edge of the pond.

Some guy (University of Florida Grad!) in a two week old motorhome broke his slide-out when he forgot to remove the braces before opening it!

Where is that campground listed? Is it a State of Florida Park?
We would love to try that one sometime. We are off to Ducketts Mill on Lake Lanier for memorial Day- I found when I tried to reserve a spot, 99% of the georgia parks where full. This one had 2 spots open, I grabbed one, even though I know little about it.
It a corps of engineers park, should be nice....

St. George Island State Park is a Florida State Park located about 90 miles southwest of Tallahassee. It is a beautiful island. It is only a 10 minute walk to one of the nicest beaches in the world. The campground is very nice. They have 30 amp electric and water hook-ups (no sewer ). There are 60 sites and two shower houses.

The only phone is the one at the ranger station four miles away. Cell phones do not work there (Sprint PCS or Nextel)! It is a nice place to get away. We do want to try Topsail Hill next. Everyone has said how nice that is.

Topsail is terrific, although a bit pricey..but you get what you pay for. It has a mile long paved pathway to the unspoiled(no pets allowed) beach..with a twice daily shuttle if you can't do the walk.
Pool, nice shuffleboard area, many small fishing lakes (with resident small gators), and some of the nicest landscaped parking
spots, with all hookups, including cable tv.
I would definitely go there again, next time bringing all our bikes though as they would be well used. Nothing but a small subway/gas station nearby, so you can't walk to any restaurants.
