Authentic Motorhome?

So there is this motorhome on eBay that the owner claims to be an original (only 1 of 3 made) motorhome, the links to both the listings are below. I asked him if he could provide any information about its authenticity since I can find NOTHING on the Internet about it and his response was basically "I have a title". He also said it was done in Boehmer-Reed, Minnesota.

To me, this camper looks like it is some Frankenstein unit that somebody put together in their back yard, especially since it is front wheel drive and uses a Ford drive train, not a RWD GM drive train. Besides the fact that it is made from Airstream parts, do you think that this was actually made by Airstream?

It might have been professionally built, but not by Airstream.

That thing on ebay looks like a complete disaster as well. I sure hope that who ever buys it knows what they are getting into!

It's up to almost $5k. There's a nice looking argy Moho on CL in my area for that price, in much better condition. I'd buy that before I would snap up this homebrew-moho.

Maybe this is the same guy who did the same thing to late 40s Spartan that I saw for sale along US287 in TX somewhere between Dallas and Amarillo several years ago ??????

I recall that in the late 70's or early 80's, someone showed-up at the International Rally with a homemade Airstream motorhome that looked very similar to this one.
It was not allowed admission to the rally grounds. This became a somewhat controversial matter as the motorhome owner protested the decision and got the local newspaper to do a short report on the situation.
Maybe this is the same motorhome. Maybe.

I have seen photos of this camper before.....looks like it was assembly with parts of Airstream trailers on an old Revco chassis.

That's what you call "rock throwing ugly". Bring it around some Airstream folks and they would start throwing rocks at it to make it go away!!!
