Airstream Bus

Ok here is another wild and wacky Airstream motorhome. Its amazing how many incarnations you find, from airport limo, to astronaut hauler, to funeral coach, to this actual bus/office.
This one looks like an Argosy painted and redone...

So I am guessing with a 425 engine this is also front wheel drive? And air suspension. It is amazing the innovation and flexibility of these.

Your photo is an "Argosy Bus."

Airstream made quite a number of them. Hauled about 24 people as I recall.

Had a 454 engine, with regular rear end drive.

Looks to me like another converted Airport transit bus. Based on the interior shots I would say it is a standard P-30 Chassis.

Very cool. I like the ceiling treatment, and those bus style doors. No bathroom and no tanks would make for a hard/expensive conversion to a camper.

airstream executive bus

I have one! A 29 footer that seats 11. We use it as a motorhome and it sleeps 4 or 5. Nice unit, all solid oak interior and as a 1987 the interior does not look dated at all, no goddy colours. Correct, 454, rear drive all air ride, no corners cut on this unit. I am restoring it and polishing it to offer up for sale or trade on a trailer.Any takers?

It has a timeless jet air craft look. Very nice.
Did anybody take you up on that offer?

Actually, Can Am RV, ontarios Airstream dealer did offer me a trade on a trailer. They are planning to use it for community events and promotions.

So.. What is going on with the ceiling? Is that all hollow or is it padding?

Very cool. Has a modern look. Even for today. Someone had vision when designing this interior.
