My neighbor has a large 5.5 hp with what I guess is a 40 gallon tank, he wants to sell, seems to work great but is heck to move around.
Alan, you need to look at cubic feet per minute, versus horsepower. You can have a twelve horsepower compressor that puts out 5 cubic feet per minute, or you can get a 3 h.p. that puts out 25 cfm. I personally like the oilless compressor I have for painting, as I don't have to worry about the oil residue getting in the air (and it does).
