Question Accuslide replacements

Hi Airstreamers! This is my first post, so please be tolerant. I have recently purchaseed a 1983 310 MH and I'm very excited about motorhoming for the first time!
My question is about the accuslide drawer slides on the exterior storage drawers, A/S says they no longer stock them. Is there a suitable replacement for these? Any direction is greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the best forums for Airstream products! You are in the right place! The absolute best place to get your question answered. I, unfortunatley, can't answer it. I would call either Andy at Inland RV (he's on this forum) or Walt's RV in Ocala.

Don't worry about people blasting you on this forum. This is an extremely helpful, respectful, and mature group of friends. Any insults or dis-respect will not go over well at all.

Congrats on buying the best MH ever made! There are several 310 owners in the group. The only stupid question is the one you don't ask!

I also welcome you to our group! You have my favorite model as I have the slightly smaller 280. I would like to have the rear bedroom type.
I did not realize that the 310 had the drawer type storage as the bigger units have, as the 280 has compartment type only.
I know the major RV parts places stock drawer slides for storage bins, but I am not sure of the adaptability to your use. I also wonder whether a slide from a Home Depot type store would work- but I will defer the answers to a more knowledgeable member here. You will find creative and very helpful info on this site.

Slides

Home Depot type stores are a bit limited as regards heavier capacity slides. A woodworking place like Woodcrafters has or can order heavy-duty slides.

If you can get hold of a catalog from any of the many tool and woodworking companies, you will find all sorts of heavy slides listed. I have bought ball-bearing, full-extension slides with capacities in hundreds of pounds in the past. Not cheap, though!
