2002 26' Airstream Landyacht

Just bought this coach new. Am I the only one who has one like this? Can't find no info on this RV. So here is my preliminary info.
Engine 8.1 vortec
Transm Allison 5 speed
5.5kw onan
Drove it back from florida at avg cruise controled speed of 70mph. Got 10.1 mpg. It took 14 hrs from Gainsville, this included all stops. I am real satisfied with this coach. If anybody knows about any bugs on this RV please contact me

Congratulations on your new motorhome and welcome to the forum.
I belive that 2002 was the first model year for your coach. My understanding is that the chassis and design is the same as the 34 foot land yacht from prior years. I looked at a couple on a dealer lot, but they did not fit into my budget. As a motorhome I thought the unit was laid out well for 2 to travel in and was small enough for small parks and tight spots. Please let us know if we can help in any way with questions you amy have. That is what we are here for, sharing.

Once the picture site comes back up, please post pictures of your new baby for us to see.

It's something I'll consider when my kids grow up and we think about downsizing! Although we want room for the grandkids! 10.1 mpg is good compared to the classic MH's with 454's! Some of that is the transmission gearing. ENJOY and please hang around the forum.

I second the motion for a few photos. It would be great for us who have no Airstream dealer nearby. Welcome to the forums!

I have the same engine and transmission combination in my '01 Chevy 2500HD ext. cab 4X4. I've been extremely pleased with the power. Some 2500HD owners complained about hard shifts and transmissions failing but this was traced to the programming of the computer and technicians just replacing the transmission under warranty because they didn't know what was going on.

You sound like the same guy a dealer in Florida told me about the other day. We also are looking at a 26 Landyacht for the two of us. What do you think about it? Never had an RV before.
