1981 Airstream Excella Diesel

The polishing is done and the motorhome is back in Southern California. It will go back in September or October for painting the stripes, etc. Lots of work to do to update mechanicals, etc.

Photo taken at Airmark in OK, polished but not painted (detailing).

WOW!!!

You should have warned me to put on the sunglasses first! What a beautiful job. Can't wait to see it finished.

Incredible!!
It looks like you replaced the mirrors. Did the new one fit the old mounting holes? Can you share the source?

I love the way this came out. The blue stripe looks great against the polished surfaces.

Ramco mirrors

The mirrors are Ramco 600 Series polished aluminum, heated. Jim at Airmark machined an aluminum adapter with both the Airstream bolt pattern and the Ramco bolt pattern.

Ramco mirrors

Since I've been looking for some time now to no avail, I decided to call and email Ramco. I believe the aluminum mirrors on your coach is the 6000 series. The 9000 series look exactly the same, except they are not aluminum but composite plastic, like the originals. The 9000 comes as black, white and chrome only. The 6000 comes in that as well as brushed or polished or acid etched aluminum.
I just can't get anyone there to tell me how to order or the price. I saw that Napa Auto parts has this GM chromed mirror that would fit my original mirror arm, alot cheaper but I sure would like remotes!
