1972 Airstream MH?

I recently was e-mailed these photos of a 1972 Airstream motor home. He wanted my opinion. WOW! That's an unusual animal. He is looking at it this weekend.

My thought was that it is either an Airstream prototype motor home on the GMC chasis or some kind of custom job

It's a trailer conversion on an olds front wheel drive. It came up before here. I saved the picture as "canofworms.jpg"
No doubt, whoever did this work in the early 80's (if I remember correctly), did a fantastic and very professional job. But since I got to know these MH's and all of their quirks, I would be afraid to touch something like that.

That's the same rig. Since it was originally a trailer, I'd stay away. The trailers were not designed to be ridden in. Besides, you're hoping the whole thing is bolted together pretty well.

This looks more like a marrage between a GMC motorhome and an Airstream trailer with some Airstream motorhome body parts thrown in here and there.
