That is really neat!

In post #2, what is the last picture of? Is that the gas lamp? Does it use gasoline or propane?

Thanks,

Dennis

Dennis,
I haven't fired it up yet but, I believe it to be a "propane" lamp.
I'll let you know for sure.

I guess its done.... :-(

Hum.... you got a '64. I was born in '68, should be a good year for a trailer ;-)

Update~

Good News and, etc.
Why is it you never see things the first time, like you do on the third or fourth time? Spend some time today cleaning up & poking around the 64GT. The best news is that, digging deeper reveals the floor, frame are in excellent shape. Will need to remove the PO owner's mod made to the goucho(turned it into a huge bedding area.) and,the sofa/bed across from the kitchen stove was replaced with a homemade kitchen counter/cabinet. Nice work but, it's gonna go~! The tiles covered with carpet both need to be removed and, that area cleaned up.The ceiling was painted this flunky green and, THAT has to go~! I can see Andy's phone ringing in the near future~ (at least there's that to turn to~!!) The stove is gonna need some really deep cleaning.(Unlike the stove in my '84,which is like brand new~The frig work and is original. Just missing the proverbial "bottom shelf". The bathroom has everything except the shower wane. Needs alot of elbow grease in here. To tell you the truth, even if it was perfect still, it would be cleaned from top to bottom and, then sideways~!~ lol Need new gaskets all around from top to bottom of vents, windows and the front door. All of the compartment doors are there except for the lower cover over the water heater~. I'm taking to heart a few groaning stories I've heard about people losing their covers by attaching mine to chains`!
At this point, it's time to take a break for a Pacifico/Clara beer!@!
Btw, I found a love note hidden away and, has given me ideas for a short saga story of sorts.~That should be interesting`!
Shari, thanks again for the link to the 64 sales pamplets.`! That was NEAT~!!
ciao

So YOU'RE the reason that the folks from the Nashua area, with the add in the Union Leader, won't call me back!

What a deal! Especially after seeing your pics!

You are going to have a fun summer!

Barb,
I think you must have something crossed there..
This ad was in the Union Leader, but the folks selling it were from Goffstown, not Nashua..
You're welcome to come by any time to look it over.
It will be 'busy' fer sure...Fun?
Ask me that one again later..
ciao

Looks like you got your work cut out for you. But it also looks like fun.

All the grunting and groaning I do when working on mine is really worth it in the end. Expecially when we are out using it and most folks in brand new rigs are admiring it!

Roll up your sleeves and get going!

PS. Birthday's in Feb! Be looking for your gift ;-)

Safari Tim,
Thanks for the vote of confidence...It will be as you say..fun.
Already I've found some interesting artifacts in and about it~!
1.A love letter written to one of the PO..Great clues~!
2.Small amounts of pocket change.
3.Humprey's gas lamp.
Most importantly, is the connection to the Wally era~
I'm very fortunate to have both of the moon style hubcaps`
Feb is a good month~!~My son was born in July..
ciao

Red face Another Senior Citizen Moment-

FC-

For some reason I had it in my head that 627 prefix was Nashua. But it was the same trailer: Same serial # in the add.

I am glad it was you that got it. What would we do with THREE? (We are being given a '61 or '62 Safari, in who knows what shape, sometime this month)

Aluminitis has struck big time in this household. I nearly drove off the road the other day when my 13 year old screamed in my ear "Look at that Airstream, Mom"

We would love to drop by and see you new project! And in the process, get to know you! Next weekend too soon? Just PM me with the particulars....

Barb

Barb,
That sounds good, about getting together~I'll PM you fer sure~
Now that's a great deal`!! Being given a A/S is the best deal`!
THOSE WERE MY EXACT WORDS~!!

And, there's no known cure`!!
I almost did the same thing on my recent trip down to Va Beach. Somewhere in DEL, as I was driving, I saw this Airstream sitting in a overgrown area..Looked to be lost and, certainly needs to be rescued~!
I'll have some questions for you as I dig into this one. (I see you have a 67 GT.)
ciao
