You mean Lexan or plexiglass? I told him to take the windows out and have the local glass company guys put in some new glass. It is just flat glass right? He said that it looked like he would have to take the drip cap off to remove the window frame. True?

Yes indeed...plexi. I went ahead and edited my comment so it isn't reflected that I was thinking something completely different!

Yes, Chris he's got it. My Mom told me he was at the computer for five hours yesterday looking at the forums and other restoration sites. Sound familiar?

Yeah way too familiar. Between the trailer and the forums I don`t have time for anything else. I just always leave the forums open and check in every hour between polishing. I will have to slow down a bit once the park opens.
Tell Dad that he needs to find his own and send it to you to redo.
I think maybe you have found your new business once Uncle Sam is finished with you.

There is "usually" a sheet metal screw at each end of the drip cap (instead of a rivet). If you take the screw out you can kind of push/move the cap up enough to slide the window out. If the last rivet is actually a rivet (instead of a screw), you should be able to just drill out that last rivet (and replace it w/ a screw). Oh and there's also a very small "set screw" in the middle of the frame at the top that he'll need to remove so the window can slide.

Good Luck.

Thanks Mark! I'll pass that info off to Dad.

Hey TOP'
Make sure your dad (if he goes with glass) orders tempered glass.
It is a very tiny little skrew that hold the window in!

Hey Top,
Is Lorelei still in Mn or back home in Texas? We are currently experiencing 8 to 10 inches of the white stuff. Supposed to be better weather next week.

She's still in MN. I had to get the electrical hooked up in Abby today so I could run the AC. It was humid and 88 degrees here in central Texas today.

Top, Just watching the news, are the forest fires in your area?
The weather guy says it's going to be in the sixties next week. Might be the time for dear old dad to head south.

No big fires around here. There have been some fires in this county, however. Most of the big fires are West of Ft Worth. We were covered in ash and smoke last Friday. It is an eery feeling. Reminds me of being in Iraq. I'm kinda holding off on getting Lorelei down here until I have Abby ready to camp in. Dear ol' Dad isn't into the Texas heat so much. Maybe a month or two.??

Ready to roll

My Dad just sent me this pic. They are heading south this Friday. Lorelei got some new tires at Hanson Tire (700x15 bias ply), repacked wheel bearings and she's all ready to roll.

Hey Top,
Good to hear the GT"s back on the road. Tell Dear ol' Dad to be careful on the drive, especially if he's driving I35.
I see it's still hot down there in the Republic, are the fires out?
Karen and I are taking Oscar " the Weiner dog" ( not to be confused with Anthony Weiner-the dog) up to Lake Superior for the weekend. They are predicting sunny weather with a high near 70. Who needs AC?

Thanks y'all. Mom and Dad always take it slow and steady. Dad sent me a pic of a special touch he added to Lorelei. I think it looks pretty cool!
