information on title or registration - 1964

hello my name is joe i am new to the site .

my question is i have what i believe to be a 1964 globe trotter trailer im trying to get a registration or title for .

it was found in a scrap yard and i am in the process of putting it back together it almost finished machanically cosmeticly not so much yet ..

any info on how to get one would be gretly appriciated ...here are the numbers i took off the tag

can anyone tell me the info from the tag number year,plant,or anything else thanks again joe.

That serial number means it's a 19 foot Airstream, made in the 1964 model year, and was made in California.

I have no idea just how the title and registration system works in New York.

But......

Here in California when I get an old vehicle, be it a car, trailer or motorcycle, I always get the title and registration taken care of before I spend much time and any money doing anything to that vehicle.

If there happens to be any sort of "cloud" on that title you could be in for a bad surprise.

I don't care much for surprises, especially bad ones.

Right. The last thing you want is to invest all that time, money, and heart into something and then find out it is stolen or has a salvage title, etc.

check the NY DMV's website for info... you probably just need some sort of bill of sale w/name, address, date & sig all from salvage yard... that will probably suffice since trailer is vintage model
