'64 GT Restore or Part Out

I have a 64 Gt that was rolled into a mountain bank on the street side. I bought it for a great price and was ready to get started with the restoration as soon as the needed parts could be located. I found four used bows and the front and rear end caps. I haven't been able to find a complete side window or the window sash that I need to keep it original.
What should I do? Should I put in windows that are from a 66 or what ever I can find? Should I just sheet over the area and have one window? Or the last resort is to make the parts available to someone that needs them. I guess another option would be to polish it up and make it into a Taco Stand.
I was real excited about this when I found the Gt but can't see restoring it with other than stock windows or with a street side missing windows.
Any advise will be greatly appreciated.

There are some wreckers out there who specialize in travel trailers and rv's. I suggest trying to locate windows that way, or craigslist/ ebay.
It would be worth fixing it if you can come up with what you need. '64s are a special year. If you do part it out I would like to talk with you about it. I will be in need of some parts for my own '64 Safari, some of which are particular to that year.

Windows through the 1965 year are flat single pane glass. 66-68 Airstreams used curved Corning tempered glass. The two are not interchangeable.

Flyrc, I just found out this past weekend that the windows are also different from Ohio trailers to California trailers.

California has mitered corners on the outside window frame.

Ohio has butted corners.

The Ohio ones had window operators and latches that were different from California's also.

It may not matter so much which ones you use, as long as they look good and fit well. Airstream wasn't particular enough to standardize these in 1964 from one plant to the next.

Do you know where yours comes from?

My Globetrotter was built in California. It has the kitchen on the curb side like most of the California trailers.Thanks for the info about the two different window frames. If someone has the butted corner type window could you take some high quality photos of both sides of the sash. Maybe I can have new sashes made.
Airstream trailers are interesting to say the least. It seems that what was in hand got installed in the trailer coming down the line. A friend has a 69 that has two different window types, some 69's and some 70's.
I have a lead on windows in Colorado. I hope I don't have to buy a trailer to get them. I don't want to have to decide which one lives and which one doesn't. I'll keep you posted.Remember, send photos

Thanks for the photos. From what I see I need to pick up a tube of aluminum silicon. Since I already have duct tape, restoration work can begin.

I was told not to use silicon in contact with aluminum in a thread on this site... that it will corrode the aluminum.

It's being parted. There were just to many tasks that would require three guys to accomplish. I sent the main door and the access doors to VT. The parts saved a 64 GT from the scrap heap. I still have the bath and the end caps that I acquired while I was getting ready to start the repairs. It's been rewarding to know that the 64s parts are making other trailers complete.
I found a 56 Flying Cloud that has a great exterior , just needs floor and an interior :-) I'll post my progress reports as soon as I get started.

Flyrc, PM me if you want to sell the outside plumbing vent stack escutcheon from the 64 It'd be a big help.

I'm renovating my '64 safari and would like to know what you have for sale. I would really like to get some of the cone lights from '64 if you have them, and a bowen water heater vent cover. My DW modified mine on the way to Burningman while trying to negotiate through a gas station.
I need other things that don't come to mind right now as well.
