64 globetrotter front sofa bed
Is there anywhere I can find the dimensions of the front sofa/bed in a 64 globetrotter? It's odd because of the curve in the front of the trailer and ours was missing the original cushions when we bought it.

Is yours a '63 or '64...your post says '64 but your profile says '63. The biggest difference is the '63 has the side bed curbside and the '64 is streetside.
We had a sofa bed in the front of our '64 GT when we got it. It was the same size as the side Guacho except with the curves to match the panels. There was a crescent shaped filler cushion up against the wall - about 8" wide, then the other two were straight & hinged. When made into a bed, it pulled out just like the side bed. It encroached on the door and just came short of the heater cabinet. The made up bed measured 48"x76".
Do you have the side sofa/cushions that you can use as a "go by"?
Shari
P.S. You can see some pics of ours here in the photo gallery section. Also a link to some pictutres page relating to our modification can be found here.

Hi! Thanks for replying! Ours is just like yours. It was titled as a 63, we don't know why. We have no pieces to the bed, sadly. Thanks for the info, I wish I had a pattern or something.

If you can confirm that the Safari and Globie were the same, I can get you some dimensions and pics. The inside width of the Safari at the floor is 84".

To the best of my knowledge, the fronts of '64s are the same in all models except the Bambi II

I'll post some dimensions and pics tonight or tomorrow morning.
The bed slides are made for pullout tables and can be purchased on-line. I'll see if I can find a link to them.

Sorry, I goofed. We do have the bed frame with the pullouts and the drawers. I just need mattress dimensions. So sorry for the confusion.

The cushion sizes are:
Filler = 8"
Back = 16"
Seat = 24"
Total when made into a bed = 48"
Overall length = 76"
Thickness = 5"
The back & seat are hinged together.
The back and the crescent have a 1/4" plywood backing behind the upholstry

I will have to document the front gaucho construction another time. Insideout has got the same matresses I have. Good to know. I thought they may have been changed out at some point in the past, but apparently not.

Wondering if I sent one of you some crate paper, if you would make me a pattern of the matress? I would be happy to pay all expenses. Just a thought.

I also live in Texas, just south of Hamilton and have a 1964 Overlander with the original front gaucho. You are welcome to come up and take pictures make a pattern as long as it is before the first of May. That is when I go to Colorado for summer. Do you happen to have a shower curtain, I need a pattern?

Hi Byjaffe,
I also have a '64 but I never have seen an original shower curtain. I bought a plastic one and just cut it to the desired shape after I had it hanging. If you want a fabric one it will need to be hemmed after cutting it, but otherwise the process is the same.
Maybe someone out there has an original. I would like to see one myself.
