1962 Globetrotter Awning dimensions, owner manual, systems diagram

Hi!

Several questions about our fairly new 62 Globetrotter...

1 - any idea what length our awning rail is? I want to order an awning soon but won't be able to measure for 3 weeks.

2 - Did it have an original owners manual? I read somewhere that they didn't start printing owners manuals until a couple years later. If so, any idea where/how I can get one...or anyone have one to share with me?

3 - If the answer to #2 is no, does anyone know where I can find specs for our trailer? We are both new to Airstreams/travel trailers in general and I am having trouble visualizing how all the systems work and where everything is located (pipes, vents, etc.), a diagram would be helpful.

Thanks in advance for sharing your knowledge/experience!

specs

Hi Alicia and Scott,
I know that there is no manual for a '62. for sure.
By specs, do you mean size of black tank, water tank, water heater, frame rails, cushions, etc.? Or are you talking; weights, hitches, brakes, tires, axle?
I have a '62 Globie named Bubbles, she has not had her face lift as of yet...had to build a house for my grandson first...but if you need anything measured I would be happy to comply. I can even draw you a picture!!
The mechanicals are actually quite simple (when compared to a house).
Tanks need vented, water can only run downhill, have a gas fitter do any gas work, leaks probably do not originate where you see the water, and yes, EVERYTHING will probably need to be replaced/repaired, it IS over 50 years old after all.
You can actually see most of the pipes, vents, propane lines and tanks if you look in the cupboards.
If you still need an awning measure let me know.
There is a wealth of information on the other repair threads to help you cope.
All of that being said, I fall in love with her again each time I step in the door.

Hey Alicia and Scott
Welcome to.the forum. There is no manual but ask if you have specific questions. There are a lot of helpful folks here.
Stop by sometime on your way north.
Nice looking. Globie.
