Shari,
I followed your "It' a Girl" thread and feel better knowing that I am not alone. I must confess, my mentor is Ken J. He is a wealth of information. Since he is responsible for assisting me in my decision to purchase my Bambi II, I thought it would only be fitting that we (meaning every person that currently, or have ever owned, or would like to own an Airstream) should convince Ken that he MUST buy a certain 22' local AS regardless of apprehesion (he just needs a little push from those of us who care).
If we can help him out, he will be a happy camper!

I began gutting my Bambi II in early Fall. It has been too cold to do much else this Winter. I need to get the plywood floor torn up to reveal the rotted frame so some good friends can help me weld in new fame/tongue, then Nylaboard for new floor- then back to the rebuild.
My water heater and fridge are original- and not sure if they will work or not (probably not). Would be interested in seeing what you have available.
Thanks- Ben

Ben, My mentor forbids me to sell the sink. However the stove, fridge & water heater are very nice, nearly new. Attached are some pictures. Thanks, Gary

Then you saw #318 which is now changed to #118- I wonder if this person has any idea what is really sitting in front of his camera lens?
I wish people would verify what they have before posting on eBay and such.

I'm sure he's listing that right. I just was looking at the picture of the serial number in his listing & it looked like 318 to me. That does make more sense. My bad!

I have #203. His initial Ebay listing was stated to be first titled as a 1965 in Georgia, very possible if it was produced toward the end of the year. I have had cars that were made in one year and titled for the next. At least he changed the year after several people contacted and informed him that Bambi II's were only officially produced during the 1964 model year. It is a nice looking Bambi II, but for 30K? He is going to have a hard time selling at that price no matter what background story he has for it. Like Ben said, I don't think he has a clue what he has or it is not all together legit. There have been a number of Airsteams for sale lately purporting to belong to Pam Anderson.

That's quite a coincidence that AWChief has #203 and Silver Bambi has #204. Pa Bambi has #002 and I have #003. A pair from the beginning of the run to a pair from (what may be) the end of the run. Cool.

Our 1964 Bambi II is # S017410071. Does the "S" mean it was made in California?

The "S" coded serial number actually designates your trailer as likely Ohio- made. I think the Cali serial numbers for Bambi II trailers was different.
