I decided to use the Watco Danish Oil natural finish on my cabinets in the '64 Bambi II. I first lightly sanded both sides of the doors using 0000 steel wool which removed the scuffs and other minor imperfections. Two applications of the Watco totally rejuvenated the wood, brought out the color, and left a soft, eggshell sheen. Very sweet!

I have found that I can actually sand the entire patina away on the woodwork in the MoHo and refinish using only Tung Oil (Formby's or other).

The new finish blends right in with the old.

I recently constructed an entertainment center using bits and pieces of interior oak wood salvaged from three separate trailers (80's and 90's), new purchase oak 1X4's, and a couple of door panels from a furniture salvage center.

Everything came together quite nicely with the Tung Oil finish.

I have used Watco Danish Oil for many years as a cabinet finish, but I mix it 50/50 (more or less, depending on which coat and the final sheen desired) with polyurethane. It works in just like straight Watco, but with repeat applications builds up a finish that can turn liquid from spills.

Woops! We didn't know the value of our Bambi II when we got it and painted the cabinets. Any ideas?

I've never removed paint from Airstream cabinets before but I have done my fair share of furniture restoration including removing paint to restore the original wood finish. If restoring the original wood finish is what you want to do, I would suggest you try some paint remover in an inconspicuous location to see if it works.

BTW, aren't you selling your Bambi II? I thought I saw it up on eBay this week.
