Becky:
Can you talk a little more about the LED installation underneath the trailer? Did you run the full length, down the center, one on each side? Were they strips, or multiple individual lights? Where did you put your on/off button? There's some really cool LED products out there. I was thinking of getting a strip or 2 of the multicolored ones and let it cycle through the colors as I'm driving. Although, that may be illegal in some states. Not illegal if it's just parked.
Thanks!
Rob.

The LED lights were run down both sides, with the wired end at the front of the trailer. When my husband did the wiring, he ran a wire from the fuse box up to the front (when he & my son made the frame). You could take power from the emergency brake. I found the lights on Amazon in 5M rolls that had adhesive on the back & are waterproof. They started to fall off almost immediately, so he reinforced the glue with 3M gasket glue (every person who has rebuilt gaskets will have some of that!!) So it's recommended to just put that on from the get go. He got the on/off button at Auto Zone (it's the pull type) It's mounted on the A-frame, underneath--so it's protected from the rain & small children!!
I just ordered a strip for inside my closet. $5.85 shipped from China for a roll of white lights that's 5M long!
I saw the multi-colored lights with the remote....pretty cool! We were a little afraid of the electronics being out in the weather since they didn't say the were waterproof. Maybe you can find some that are!

Becky- how many BTUs is your AC unit rated for? Lynn and I are hoping to score one here at end of season...even though I am not ready for it yet.
Thanks! Ben

It's 10,000 but casement window unit. Keeps it plenty cool. Good idea to look for the sales!

So yours is not one of the "stand alone" indoor room units? I had not heard of these casement window units before.
You have intake through the floor as I recall and you vented out the back through the stock furnace vent as I recall.
Do you have any other pics of the AC install besides the ones already posted on your AirForums pages?

No, it's not a stand alone unit. The intake is through the floor & vented out the back. Not the the stock furnace vent, but a custom made vent where the furnace vent used to be. I had to cut the hole larger so there was enough surface area for the rear of the a/c to vent out. I didn't want to cover any of the back of the unit, because I didn't want it to over heat. I don't have any more pictures of the install, but Toastie is the originator of the installation method. Take a look at his thread "Slow Floor Replacement" and you'll find it in there. The tricky part for me was making it so it is all removeable, in case anything ever goes wrong with the unit. The whole cabinet in the rear of the trailer that surrounds the a/c is put in with screws only so that I can take it all apart if need be (hopefully, that will be NEVER!)

I finally finished my closet. It was a cavernous hole that I wanted to utilize every inch I could! I took the Bambi II camping in August & didn't really like having the microwave on the back counter. I made a shelf unit that I can remove if I have to (to winterize & access the water heater). My Zip-Dee chairs fit perfectly in front of it & they'll make sure nothing flies out of it--like the microwave!! I put in a little hanging rod for all my fancy clothes It was super dark back there, so I ordered some LED lights from our friends in China. $5.85 DELIVERED!!! Got a switch from Radio Shack & my dear hubby wired it for me. So I used every inch of the 5 meters of LED & ran it in the closet, above the closet, and in the cabinet above the sink. LOVE IT! My daughter & grandson are coming with me on a roadtrip next week, so I'm trying to get everything finished by then. My sis bought a MOHO, so we're going on a girls trip!! CAN'T WAIT TO HIT THE BEACH~~~can you tell I'm giddy??!!

looks great and now you have a place for your sequined dresses!
But really when your in a trailer esp a smaller one, you need to think about how to best utilize every inch of space.
have fun at the beach.

Thanks, Lezlie! The lights were strip lights that have sticky tape on one side, so they're really easy to apply. I got them off ebay....

I want to put them all over my basement now, they're so cool!

Your frig vent cover looks new. Mine's shot and I can't find a 21" replacement only VTS' 24" one. Even tried Winneck. Any ideas?

Becky,
Enjoy! Looks like you're going to have a blast with the young ones.
If you get the chance, check out the Airstream food court in Watercolor, part of Santa Rosa Beach -- very near Grayton Beach State Park. It's the town where I'm Carrey was filmed in Truman.

While Becky's away, I'll try to help...
Outofdoorsmart.com has a 28" vent that is aluminum, not ABS like the one at VTS. You can cut it down using this technique.

That's exactly what I did! We made it in one piece to the Gulf. Am happy to say that nothing has gone awry so far!
