I just felt the need to whine. Some of the other kind of wine might help loosen things up!

We definitely felt your pain when we polished. It took both of us working 8 hour days, 3 to 4 days a week for a solid month.

Becky, I spent 5 hours on the roof yesterday, definitely feeling your pain!
Today I am hunched over with crab claws as hands I was glad for a rainy day.....
Wish I had a Bambi

I am SOOOOOO glad I don't have the 31 footer to do too!!! Crab claws are exactly what hangs at the end of my arms.....Today was beautiful. Monday & Tuesday were about 90 percent humidity. I was outside sanding in the rain for a while (kinda nice, actually....no spray bottle needed) until it started lightening. I'm finished with the roof & have it Sharkhided. Tomorrow I'll finish with the F9 & will then do the F7, C & S with the cyclo. I'll probably only get the F7 finished tomorrow.
I'm glad I'm in good company with other people over the age of 25 who can actually feel the pain of crab claws!!!! (and I'm super glad I have a Bambi!!!!)

Well, I don't feel so bad now, hearing from everyone else that it's not just me! When I polish for 5-6 hours at a time, I can't hardly move the next day and am exhausted, and I know what you mean about "crab claws", here too. I now normally try to do no more than 3 hours at a time, and sometimes a double shift/day. However, we just came off of 20 straight days of rain, and that really limited the polishing, not to mention mowing, weeding, gardening, etc. time! Yesterday was our first day without rain in those 20 days, and it even looked as though it could rain. We don't polish when it's raining or even if the ground is still wet because we're afraid of getting shocked.
One thing which I was surprised about was that even after using a full-face shield, plus a mask, I didn't realize that "black" would travel up the face shield! I can't imagine doing this without face protection. And, it is not so easy to wash off -- scrubbing is required!
Last Sunday, DH used a very tall ladder, the edge of our deck, and a wide plank to get to the top of our Bubble; he got about 1/2 of the top wet sanded and I am hoping the other half will happen this weekend. Otherwise, I have about 1/2 of the rest of the trailer yet to get the corrosion off.
I know I'm going to changed over to Nuvite "S" for the final with a cyclo, but I'm undecided as to what to do after I complete the corrosion removal with the rouge bar. I was using a black bar, which took it off nicely, but as Shacksman pointed out when he and Terry stopped by to driveway camp, it was causing some scratching, so I switched back to the grey which came with the Jetsco kit. I think I'm going to try the pink rouge bar which came with the kit next to see how that does for the next step.
Becky, I forget, did you try the rouge bars? If you did, in comparison, do you think the Nuvite is easier and/or a better shine?
Also, where can I get info on Sharkhide?
Thanks.
Deb

After I posted the above question about Sharkhide, I searched and found the one which you, Becky, and others were discussing it starting in '08 forward, and you used it on your '86, 31' AS.
I've decided, after reading all of that thread, that Sharkhide isn't for us on this Bubble. Even though I was only considering it for the top, I don't want to attract more dirt up there than need be, not to mention the chemicals it contains.
I'm now thinking I'm going to return to my first consideration for the top, the white paint -- only the very top where it won't be seen from the ground.
I wanted to post that I'd found out about this product to save others their time in educating me.
Thanks again.
Deb

Sorry, Deb, I forgot to answer your question. I saw that you found the info on the Sharkhide. It isn't like it collects dirt like a sticky pad....it just isn't as "smooth" as a polished finish so it doesn't stay as slick looking....just to clear that up (I used it on my Avion over the whole thing...looks pretty good on there since it's not a polished finish).
As far as what I'm using.....
1. Acid wash
2. 400 grit aluminum oxide wet sand
3. 600 grit aluminum oxide wet sand
4. Burgundy metal scotchbrite pad on orbital sander
5. (I did this later in my polishing to cut a step or two of F9) Black Bar on Airway wheel
6. Nuvite F9 about 4-5 passes (until the finish is relatively clear)
7. Nuvite F7 - 1 pass
8. Nuvite C - 1 pass
9. Nuvite S with cyclo
I've used the bars before on my Sovereign. The finish looked very nice--however--this is why I'm doing Nuvite....I feel that the wheel finish polishes out imperfections well. The method doesn't round out the imperfections like the grits in Nuvite does (IMHO). So, after it rains, the finish seems to dull faster on a wheel finish because all of those imperfections will hold on to the water more than the Nuvite finish, which is smoother. That is the difference I noted between trailers that I polished in the two different methods. I'm trying to get the very smoothest finish on the Bambi that I can so that she'll keep her shine longer!!!
