I finished laminating the galley last night. Routing isn't my favorite thing...could be that I'm forever damaged by witnessing my sister-in-law turn the end of her finger into hamburger while routing!! (back in the good ol' days we had a little wood craft business). Anyhow, there was much routing to be done, but I'm now finished with laminating!! Yee haw! This morning I attached the sink (while in the house..much more comfortable than trying to cram under the counter) and the stove. My son was the extra pair of hands while installing the gas on the tiny stove. Now comes the fun part of blinging it up with some silver trim. I like that part!

Have you selected a counter edge trim? I'm hung up on a fluted or a plain...neither are available locally to I get to pay 1.5X the cost for shipping...

I chose the plain. What really stinks is that I ran short & had to order it again! :/ I also ordered trim for the floor & counter top edges in silver & had to pay bookoo bucks for that shipping. Oh we'll.... Whatcha gonna do?

In little bits of time over the last couple of weeks, I've finished the top of the galley, installed drawers (oh my, what a PITA!), varnished the drawer fronts & a couple doors.Click image for larger version

I'm using the aluminum front in the rear cabinet so the a/c can move air. I like the look so much, that I might use it on the upper cabinet doors.Click image for larger version

ID:	174921 I installed the drawer fronts in the rear, only to figure out that one of the drawer fronts wasn't square I can't believe I did such a kindergarten mistake, but I am only in first grade! So, now I have to glue up some more boards, because I used them all. Oh well, always something to frustrate myself!
I've also admitted defeat in finding any kind of stick on edging for the wet bath & have used my secrets of caulking all around the wet bath. Two & a half tubes later, it doesn't look half bad.Click image for larger version

Smev Hob

Looks like you chose a Smev Hob for your stove, as did we. We had to raise the counter level above the frig in order to get the safe air space between the Dometic and the Smev. So the stove area is a couple of inches higher than the sink.

Our Smev igniter was supposed to use a trailer 12 volt line for power but there was no wire close by. I didn't really want to run a wire clear from aft just for an igniter. I ended up wiring the igniter to a little 9 volt battery. Work great!

Our stove doesn't have an electronic ignition, so that was one less thing to wire! Pretty smart to wire it to a 9 volt battery. Since we had no cabinetry, I raised the whole thing to accommodate the stove/refrigerator specs. According to the manual, "from the lower part of the appliance to the wall underneath 30mm, 1 1/4" " I also put a metal partition in there, as well as insulation under the metal partition to keep heat from the refrigerator. The top of the cabinet sits level with the window sill in the galley. Also, I'm a lefty, so I put the sink all the way to the right, so I have a working area to the left of the sink.
I like your Bambi II, Antique Pedaler (sorry I don't know your name). It's really very nice!

Between the holidays & a family vacation, the Bambi II project has been a little slow! I have managed to frame in most of the upper cabinets. I have shortened the cabinet on the curbside. I have whacked my head enough on my '86 Sovereign while entering & making a quick left that I KNOW it'll be a problem for me in the little Bambi II! I'm going to make some nice things to hang around the refrigerator vent for holding spices, etc. when I have nothing else to do! I want to thank Vernon for his good idea of making a "scaffold" for holding up the cabinet on the streetside while working on it. I still have to complete that giganticly long cabinet, but it's getting there! Kinda crummy pictures from my phone....oh well!

I finished the framing of the upper cabinets this past week. Got them varnished & installed. Also, I installed my speakers for my stereo system. It's a lot of speakers in a small space, I know! There will be a floor above all the wire mess & the tops of the speakers will be popping out in the cabinet. I'll probably make a little box to go over them. So, if my trailer is a rockin' don't come a knockin'--cause I won't hear you-- The task lights above the sink also have been installed. Next, I'll have to bribe someone with a wiring brain to hook all this stuff up for me!
