Congratulations on your find! I can't wait to see pictures of the "extraction." It is amazing how much better they look almost instantly when sitting in your driveway on pumped up tires.

My pleasure. I enjoy sharing the photos. It was a memorable day getting her home!

As the other poster said- these old relics do look 100% better at home on pumped up tires.

What is your serial number? Mine ends with 0002. This means it was the second Bambi II made. I think that is cool- but wonder exactly how many were made and how many still exist? I am thinking of seeing if the other Bambi II owners would want to start a registry.

I will look forward to your photo journal of the extraction and of your process to make this baby road worthy again.

Cheers!!! Ben

This is the serial number. Looks like it was born just after yours! How cool is that!

I would. In Bend, OR. we just had a case of hantavirus. Looks like there is enough there to use as patterns for new walls etc. Looks like a dumpster-full for sure. Sometimes getting the project is as fun as restoring !

That is almost too wicked cool! I can't believe that the trailer you just found which sat for 20 years followed mine which sat for 20 years right off the JC line in 1964! What are the odds???

We will have to bring these two silver twinkies together again sometime! I think it will be an interesting race to the finish for restoration! (I am not in any way implying that we'll win...much to be done!)

Thanks for the info!!

Ben

Script?

Does yours have a "Bambi II" script or a "Bambi" script? Mine just has "Bambi" and I theorize that they were using up the 1963 "Bambi" scripts before adding the "II." I wonder when the "II" was added?

I still can't believe they are 0002 and 0003!!

Mine has just "Bambi" too. Someone else suggested the same as you when I posted the serial number earlier last week & was trying to determine what it was.

0002 and 0003 - that is cool, but where is 0001???, now that would be a find for the trio. You guys need to get them together in line like they were at the factory when built.

Lucky Girl! What a great find. It's so exciting that another vintage trailer has been saved. We always have our eyes open, but haven't found a rescue yet.

Awesome find! Looks like a perfect size to strip down - new frame, new floor, put the nice shell on, and build the inside up the way you want it - and no guilt because that inside is trashed! Have fun!

Great find!!!! We moved our 1966 yesterday close to 100 miles. Just a little tree cutting!

Look forward to your story. I have to get started on mine.
