I used this gizmo that was in the case with my ancient Craftsman router when I bought it at a garage sale many moons ago! It had a small cutter bit. I've never cut laminate before, so I figured I'd use the thing that was made for it. Plus, I covered the very edge of my routing with the silver banding, so if I screwed up a little, it didn't show
These are my tips from one newbie to another about laminating:
Get yourself a bunch of dowel rods--about 3/8" - 1/2" diameter or so. After you have your adhesive on both surfaces of your project (laminate & plywood or whatever you plan to use) and it is dry enough according to the directions, put the dowels all about 6" or so on the top of the plywood. When you have your top lined up to the bottom, gently pull each dowel out from the middle out to the edges. Smooth it all out with a heavy rolling pin (that's what I used, cause I wasn't going to go buy a roller--they have them if you want to buy one) Walk away & let your glue dry at least a day before you try routing it. I cut my overhang so it was closer to the plywood with a little air cutoff saw. It got a little smokey in the garage, but it worked pretty well. Cause if you cut it with a scissor, it can crack in bad places. That's about it. I wish you luck!

This afternoon/evening I installed the handles on the drawers & doors of the lower cabinets. Glad that's finished!

The drawers were a new experience for me. I can't say they were an easy one & I can say that I kept my temper in check throughout the process either! :-)

Thanks for the compliments! I should have said I "can't" say I haven't lost my temper! At least I have no one to get mad at about mistakes but myself. Wood is good--you can always do it over if you mess up! (Unlike, say, aluminum!)

Is it bad to say I'm sick of making cabinets? Cause I'm sick of making cabinets!

I'm glad I'm not the only one. My mantra is often "It'll be worth it when it's done. It'll be worth it when it's done..."
And today I'm off to pick up three more sheets of plywood for the curbside bulkheads. There is an end somewhere, maybe around that next bend.

Ugh! The bulkheads were bad for me....I'm glad they're over! I only have 1 more door to make, but I don't know how I'm going to do it. It's for the closet. I might just put an accordion door there, but I feel like I'm coping out if I do that! I'll have to stare at it for a while....

I was thinking the same thing! That's a lot of cabinets!
Becky, why won't a normal door work? Can you post a picture for brainstorming? Your trailer is coming along way too nice for an accordion.
