My head is going to be elevated, forward and starboard, shower elevated 5" forward and amidships leaving a nice full length space for wardrobe over some water tankage on the port side.

I just looked at a repossesed 2003 19' Bambi that needs to be gutted on the inside...very very dirty...some melting behind the stove top...carpet ruined...appliances in rough rough shape...did I mention it was very very dirty...two basketball size dents on the roadside rear corner panels...upper and middle...air conditioner burned up...and oh yeah...VERY VERY DIRTY!
I have never seen anything like this and sorry I could not take any pictures of the unit
Is it worth 3K?????

Gawd, was it a refugee fom Katrina, or some other flood? Most Airstream owners take better care of their stuff than that. Is there $3K in aluminum there?

By the way, I haven't posted to this thread about our new trailer, 1974 31' Sovereign...$2695. Usable as it was, now replaced fridge, tires, flooring, water heater, etc, etc...

Terry,
Unit looks good walking up on it but then it goes to "Hell in a hand basket" from there...
Just the 2 bad panels...every other one is fine...
Looks like he was living in it...but not clenaing it up...also repo'd his truck that we bid on also...
carpet is soiled...looks like the A/C caught on fire and singed the fabric on the ceiling...just not in good shape at all.

Even though it's an '03, you would have to chase me down, and threaten me with bodily harm, before I would take it...
I have dealt with repos before, most of them have been thoroughly trashed. Maybe you'll luck out, and lose the bid...

Is it really that bad?
I could imagine doing a lot with a newer Bambi. PM me with pics if you get it! Oops, on edit, I didn't read about the dents.
Still.....

What $3k got us
'65 Overlander = $2k initially (down payment?)
Complete renovation, new running gear, replace all mechanicals and appliances, rebuild/refinish all cabinets, new flooring, soft goods, polish and new zip dee = $10k. So $3k would be 25% of total investment (so far! )

Forgot..
FIVE years ago got us out 75 Argosy 26ft.... ended up replacing just about everything (AC, heater, Waterheater, h20 pump, plumbing, upholstry, lighting, fridge)... just not all at once, thank goodness! ... over the years.
Fun with family?
Priceless!

Custom Shower Stall
My unit sits in the sun here in PA so I was glad to see how well the FanTastic fan works. Put it in just the other day. My shower will be in the front and I thought someone might want to see what it looks like being built. It is luan inside a 1x2 frame and covered with cloth and epoxy. I plan to have a small sump and bilge pump into a good sized tank. I plan to use a weighted curtain for the shower and maybe exhaust into the new fan.
