Finally.....the ultimate Caravel

Well......it took me 44 years of living but I finally molded the Caravel I'd always wanted. I purchased this trailer about 5 years ago and desperately wanted to redo the interior but couldn't afford it. Well, my wife and I own an internet business and we had a great year last year so I finally took the plunge. I'm including photos of the new interior. Replaced is the oven (I just can't do a microwave.....camping is about taking your time and relaxing), counter top (with granite), sink (I love copper), upholstery and carpet. Life is good!!

Great job!

That is one good looking Caravel! Thanks for the inspiration.

One question -- why didn't you go with a bigger flat screen?

(just kidding)

John

Well your question is certainly a good one John. I decided to keep the sofa rather than go for a larger TV as I decided I might want to sit down.....or sleep.....every so often. Perhaps I'll find a suitable substitute

Please be advised that Caravels and Bambi's from 1968 and older, have a very large axle spindle failure rate along with the rubber rods failing.

We ship out an average of an axle per week, to help someone stranded, because a spindle sheared on those models.

When that happens, addition damages to the trailer usually happen as well.

Your photo clearly shows that your axle is bad.

Andy

Cool Think about it

Use the local facilities. You may find that you can rip out the whole shower/toilet arrangement and replace it with a 72" flat screen.

Andy,
Actually......you and I went around on this a few years ago. I wanted to purchase an axle from you all and have it installed by Airstream in Jackson Center but apparently things weren't good between the two of you. After much back and forth, I finally purchased an axle from you and had it sent to Ohio. They picked it up from some location close to Jackson Center and installed it. You should be able to find my purchase information under "Thad Humphrey" if you keep purchase information. In any event, the new axle is working great and I'm confident that I won't fall victim to the maladies I've seen so many other 65 Caravels fall victim to. Thanks for your concern though.

Thad

...bad axle???

Just out of curiosity, how is it that Andy can "clearly tell from your photo" that the axle is bad. Can you determine this simply by looking at a photo?
