1965 Caravel Screen Door

Does anyone know if a 1966 Caravel screen door would fit a 1965 Caravel?

It's listed as fitting any 1966-68.

Thanks,

John

I have redone a 1965 caravel 17 ' and was serching for a door screen also. what I found was that a screen door from a 1968 is the same , and I have used that in my 65.
The only big problem was that the pin on the door hinge was so corrored it did not want to come out.

Welcome

Welcome to the forums!

You're right. I did end up buying it and it will fit when I get the chance to make or buy a hinge. I'm not looking forward to pulling the pin though.

How about posting some pics of your Caravel? This forum loves 'em.

Most of mine are in this thread : http://www.airforums.com/forums/f145...vel-45046.html

If you are new to the forums, this link will get you to the Caravel threads.

Thanks for the tip on screen doors and years that fit. I'm guessing that any model 65-68 screen door will fit, not just a Caravel screen door? I've considered fabricating my own...

On the stuck hinge pin, I've got that problem, too. Even the RJ Dial air hammer and drill rod trick didn't work. If the penetrating oil doesn't eventually work, I'll try to cut the hingepin off atthe joints in several segments and fabricate a stout c-clamp press to wrench the stubborn pieces out.

John, thanks for your recent fiberglass black tank post, well done! I spotted your web page link and enjoyed looking through your Caravel pictures. One thing that puzzels me though is the function of that rectangular access panel in your floor?
