Looking for '69-'71 Caravel
Posted this in the classifieds, but wanted to also post here:
I'm looking for a 69-71 Caravel. I'm OK with something of a project, but I want a mostly complete and original trailer to start with.
Thanks!

Look at the Globetrotter on classifieds , nice man near you in Mass. I would look at that one. Offer him 10000. Good luck ,

might also check the global craigslist search engines like Anthony Damata's Global Craigslist Search Engine We've had good luck finding things with that as well (we usually do the slow search that does actual listings).

Thanks all. I actually did go look at the Globetrotter in the classifieds - and you're right, the owner is a really nice guy.
We're on the hunt for an Argosy Minuet on this coast (don't have time or $ to ship from the West) or will probably go for a TAB. Both are lighter than the Globetrotter or later Caravels, which would be better for our tow vehicle....

Tom,
If the trailer models you are considering include the Tab, also take a look at the 17' Casita. You might find one for sale close to you here: The Casita Club Forums (Powered by Invision Power Board)

Thanks for that idea. We did look at an used Casita 17' - it was a very nicely built trailer, but my beloved wife can't get around the carpet that's all over the walls. On the roof, on the side walls, lining the cupboards - everywhere.
Too bad, because they're built like tanks (but don't weigh like one)....

Thanks. We've been taking our time, trying to figure out the right balance between tow weight, amenities, and how much work I'd need to do with a vintage trailer. I just missed a nice Minuet a few months back, but such is life....

That Argosy 20 does sound nice - I saw that trailer on Craigslist and emailed the owner. Seems to be a really solid unit. It's not far away - but the Minuet has much bigger streetside windows (and two of them rather than one), and my wife wants as much glass as possible in the living area.
No doubt we're being fussy, but given that at some point I'm likely to be frustrated by vintage trailer ownership (and the investment of time and money needed), I want to start with the fewest compromises in what we want as possible. Either that, or start with basically brand new and super simple (TAB)....

Comparison
You WILL be back to Airstream or Argosy. However, my friend really likes his Casita. Made just south of Dallas/Ft. Worth.....not China or Mexico.

LOL - oh, I don't doubt that for a second.
Just discussed this with my wife - ultimately the best combo would be the TAB (for when we need a simple rolling bed and nothing more) and a 20ish footer AS/Argosy for when we want to stay at one place for multiple days.
