We are in Clarke County, south of Meridian.

Hope to see some of you when we finally get our 1980 Excella on the road.

Trim the interior panel

The 69 has an interior roof paneling that has two parallel raised areas. A special roof panel has to be made up to make a level interior mounting surface. The 69 has provisions for condensation drain...you will need it here in Texas. If I ever get a camera I will post pics.
MR,

I recently installed a Carrier Air V low profile in a '72 Safari. The plastic cover of the 'lower unit' of course did not fit the curve of the interior roof. My solution (after checking with Carrier tech dep't), was to scribe the front and rear to match the curve and then trim the sides (about 1/2"IIRC). The panel then fit the roof contour perfectly and it properly mated to all of the controls as well. It is OK to cut tis cover as long as you do not interfere with any of the control surfaces.
