yr frame size reduced

Hello, Does anybody know exactly which year Beatrice reduced the frame size from 4-5" down to 3"? I read in another website that they did this 'in the '70's' in order to reduce weight. The other website said that this frame reduction, along with the rear bath, and in '74 putting a grey water tank also in the back, resulted in 'rear sagging'. Can't seem to find any information though on exactly what year the frame size change took place. Thanks, Susie

I think that other web site is not correct - Airstream has not reduced the frame size. The year end sag started when they started using gray water tanks.
