What exactly Do I have?

My AS is a 75 27" Tradewind Land Yacht. At least that is what it says on the side.
It's a center twin, rear bath model.
But there is also a decal below the blue beltline that says International.
What does the international mean?
Also, when I look in the forums by year I do not see a 75 TW listed. It only goes to 74.
Is there somewhere I could look up my unit by the serial #?
Ser # is: I27T5J2166
I do remember on one of the spec/GVW plates on the front curbside it gave a manufacture date of 12/74.
Just got the title in the mail a couple of days ago and it says it's a 75.
Anybody know what I have?
TIA
Jerry

Airstream dated like autos....new year models out before the year is over. Anything built October or later is the next model year. Looking in the weights section on Airstream.com they do list Tradewinds through 79.

THe International as I undersatand, is to do with size (width) and weight. It's a lighter trailer that meets size restraints for international sales is my understanding.

Jerry,

You have a strange one here.

Tradewinds typically came in 24 and 25 foot lengths. 27 foot models were all Overlander models until the 80's

The naming with the International plate signifies that the unit came with certain upgrades. These differed from model year to model year. All trailers were Land Yachts.

The strange thing is Airstream does not list a 75 Tradewind International. Just a Land Yacht, and it is going to have a 25 in place of the 27 in your SN.
I would say someone added the Tradewind plaque in lieu of the Overlander plaque. The Overlander was available in the International trim.

According to his serial number he has got a 27' Overlander Twin,

Mine is a 74 and starts out exactly the same but mine is a double, 127D______. Others here could decipher it further but I am positive he has got an Overlander. The Tradewind badge has to be bogus.

Jerry, you should look on the tongue to be sure the numbers match your title, just to be sure everything is on the up.

You may want to check out Airstream's "Serial Number Decoding Links" in Kevin's response to a previous post. I have checked them out before...but tonight they aren't working so try them later...good info!

Thank You!!

The The AS link Shari provided is working this morning.
Very helpful.
It says I do have the International model, 27', rear bath, twin bed, 1975 model, built in Jackson Center OH.
So if I read your responses correctly I don't have a TW I have a
Overlander? Is the only difference between the TW and OL in the Length? And all 27 footers are OverLanders?
Hmmm.
The trailer is 2 hours away from me so I can't just run out and have a look at the plaques on the side. But when I first came here I knew nothing about all this stuff so I wrote down the info on the plaques on the side before posting it in my profile.

Well anyway, part of me thinks it would be neat to have an oddball. But then again, another part thinks it's nice to fit in somewhere.

Chas, is the serial # stamped on the tongue too?
I'll have to check it out this weekend. And I think I'll scrutinize the front curbside for evidence of past repairs. Who knows but that it didn't get hit somewhere along the way and they just didn't have the right plaques to put on when they repaired it.
Man these forums are great.
Thanks again,
Jerry

Yes, the s/n is stamped on the top of the tongue as well.

I understand your confusion, I saw my Overlander for sale in the paper but it was advertised as a "24' Airstream Landyacht". Thought it was a Tradewind at first, I guess the seller had just taken a tape measure and measured the shell so he figured it was a 24 footer.
