Trailer Questions

thanks to all those who participated in our previous survey. in case this is the first you've heard, we are a Purdue University design team and are designing a new trailer hitch system. we have a brief survey to keep us moving in the direction that everyday people need and want. take a few minutes to complete it and that would be great. thanks.

Survey

I appreciate your efforts in this area, but could we have a little more information about your affiliation with Purdue?

Questions

I, also, have some questions considering the quality and professionalism of the survey.

Do you have a Purdue department head contact?

What will the results of the survey be used for?

What a great question for the psychology department!

I wonder if there are any engineers working on this project.

This appears to be a case of an academic department at a university (DAL) installing some software, that's free for academic and non-commercial use, on their workstation for oculomotor research, not being aware it's open to the internet, where it's being used by some company claiming they're a research team from Purdue.

I believe that if it was legit, Purdue would be sponsoring it on one of their websites.

That survey sure doesn't look like it was designed by anyone in higher education!

Kinda leads one to wonder...

what the connection is between "Mapping and Modeling the
Human Oculomotor System" and trailer hitch systems. Perhaps there concerned with the ocular movements of the human eye while hitching up an Airstream?

The IP that the original Post came from was:

me193-dhcp-3.ecn.purdue.edu

So either the poster is spoofing his IP address or as stated above they do not know what door they opened to the nasty net It could also be a Trojan infection that looks to see how much bandwidth can be used, or what kind of info they can get off your system.

Could it also be a study of how people respond to a survey request with no real concern for the actual survey results? Again a Psych study of cabin fever perhaps

Is it spring time yet?

If the Purdue psych survey is legit, I wonder of they could they tell me the possibility that when Spring arrives I might actually "get a life", ....and

Why can't we allll just git 'a long?

I tried PM'ing these people, and got a message saying they didn't want to be contacted. Talk about anti-social! Then again, they may have thought I was going to PM them, and they headed me off at the pass. I am renowned in some circles for circulating the cesspool...

Here is a link to another survey that they have posted in the same directory

http://or.psychology.dal.ca/~wcs/SAh.../survey_1.html

I wonder if someone should tell them that the site where they store all these surveys is open to the whole world????
