The tall drop bar for the Reese system adds an inch ir two of length, in addition to taller drop. Get the tall drop bar, and set everything for the correct height, and you will probably have enough clearance to drop the tailgate.

Bedside Storage?

Has anyone installed a bedside recessed shelf, like the one in the photo, or other type of storage next to the bed on the wardrobe side? Looking for something small just to set reading glasses and small flashlight etc.

The FC has a magazine rack on that wall. We use it for a lot of stuff. It gets a flashlight, remote, and water bottle. Racks of similar type are available from marine supply houses.

The closet gets enough clothes to fill completely. When it's minimal, gear goes there to centralize the loadout. So no space to indent a pocket. However, it might be a good idea to install one with structure to protect the AC control on the back side and the connecting wiring.

Good luck with your project. Pat

Take a look at umbra.com design products. I have used several of their items to upgrade the function and look in our AS. Very modern and several items seem well suited to the International interior design.

I used the Mini Key & Hook Organizer on the closet wall by the bed to hold iPhone, Kindle and flashlight.

Also replaced the three stock coat hooks on the left side of the entry with the Flip 5-Hook Espresso coat hook.

You can price out on the umbra site then see if you can get it for less on Amazon.

Just a thought.

Nice.. Does your shelf unit for the magazine rack just clip on, slide in, or what? I slide my kindle into the magazine rack now, which works fine. We've never turned on the TV. I'm not sure where the remote is. :O

I used a 1/4 in thick piece of birch as a shelf attached with ss screws and aluminum angle stock about one inch below lip of rack. Ok for holding small items. Can still slip iPads or magazines below. Don’t have a good picture right now.

Plumbing diagram

Does anyone have a plumbing diagram for our 23FB? I'm interested how the piping goes from the hot water tank to the shower and to the other side. trying to find all the connections that might leak.

thanks

23 FB Queen to twin

My wife and I really like the twin units but are pressed for space to store our AS so we purchased a 23 FB last year. We continued to have twin envy until recently. We like the additional room to move around and storage under beds. Also, wonderful to have the roadside exterior storage as convenient for power cord.

We contacted Brad Herring at the AS service Dept and sure enough he could make our dreams come true and within a month of our first contact we were sleeping in our 2017 Serenety 23 FBT

Our technician Brent did an outstanding job on this conversion, he is very talented!! Not to mention just a super nice guy! He was very thorough in reviewing/explaining the plan and getting our input - from lights and electric plug relocation to storage design between beds. His attention to detail and craftsmanship is to be commended.

Of course none of this could have happened if Brad hadn’t researched the possibility of this conversion and responded to us so quickly! (Sorry Flying Cloud 25” &#128579.We appreciate the time Brad took to answer all our questions and providing suggestions/options for us to consider. His expertise, knowledge and patience is vast!

The total experience from start to finish was outstanding and we look forward to enjoying our new 23FBT for many years to come, and still park it in our carport!

23FB Dinette Table Adjustment

There are a lot of comments about the dinette in the 23FB.

I thought there may be some interest in this modification we just had done in Jackson Center.

Ours is a 2017 23FB International. The new setup emulates the older style 23FB dinette.
  1. New table top was made. It is longer and attaches to the side-wall. It is also narrower - the edge of the table now lines up with the edge of the seat. Huge difference. Much more comfortable, more room on the table, no more wobble.
  2. JC also removed the seat that ran along the wall side.

Note following this modification the table height cannot be adjusted, nor can the dinette be converted into a bed.

Streamer - thanks for sharing. Does the area over the wheel well give you any value? Also, is the space under the seats a drawer or a locker? Pat

Not really - the area over the wheel well is dead air similar to the old style 23FB. Under the seats is the original locker containing a plastic tub.

For reference, this is a picture of the old style 23FB dinette.
