It's definitely cozy, but workable for two people. I had a custom fill cushion made that sits on top of the table when the dinette is in the down position, which essentially converts it to a big lounge. It's great for those rainy days when the two of you want to sit inside.

I’d like to see the cushion and more information on where you had it made. Thanks

I had it made at Ultimate Airstreams. They covered the cushion in the same Espresso Ultra Leather that came from the factory, and they used a foam with similar density to the factory cushions. It has a rubber bottom panel to keep it from sliding off the table top. It was expensive, but I'm quite pleased with it. There are other companies that make custom cushions that are less expensive, but I really wanted it to match. Before buying this cushion, we simply converted the dinette to the sleeping position and used throw pillows for back support. That worked fine, but I like this solution better. When not in use, the pillow stows in the larger wardrobe.

Converter

We need to replace the converter on our FC 23FB. Hoping to get one of better quality than what’s currently in there but will fit without alterations. Recommendations?

Progressive Dynamics PD4655v is a direct swap out. They make a lithium compatible unit, also, if you're going that way.

Venting shower

Since my 2021 FB International did not come with a bathroom exhaust fan I'd like to install one. A Fantastic Fan is too big. I just want something simple and smaller to install above the shower. I realize that the vent door is going to come out partly on the top end cap but this is not a problem. I'm pretty sure I can fish a 12v wire over from one of the existing light fixtures.

Any ideas?

I when with the PD 4935 VL - with lithium option. It is a jumper option from LA to LFP. When swapping out the unit, you can leave the original DC fuse block as it is. I bought mine from Best Converters. Randy was very responsive to the one question that I asked him. Oh, while in the load center check all 120v connections for tightness. Many of my neutrals were loose.

Ventline makes a 6" popup exhaust vent. I added one to another brand of trailer and did find the fan motor of questionable quality, but they are cheap enough to replace if needed. I thought about adding this vent fan in the shower of my 23FB, but I had mounted a solar panel over the area and couldn't. https://www.amazon.com/Ventline-Dex-.../dp/B00R6M2UPS

Thanks. How was cutting into the roof for installation? Any tips? I'm guessing I only get one shot at this.

Queen to twin

I had a lot of inspiration from this Forum...Thanks to all of you. We bought "Nessee" 2017 23FB international in January this year and started the Queen to Twin mod in March after I finished our master Bath remodel. My goal was to use as much of the existing bed and wardrobe as possible. Also, since I was starting with a "clean sheet of paper" I added an updated electrical system (Surge controller, 200AH lithium battery, Victron 2000 inverter, Victron DC-DC, Bogart solar charge controller and battery monitor, and Zamp Obsidian 90W solar panels on the roof. The Port bed has hinge top for storage. This was a better option for us than drawers or doors in the front. Under the starboard bed houses all of the electronics and battery. It is vented to the walk way, but I'll add a fan to assist in the cooling for the inverter. Access is easy by removing the mattress and lifting the cover. I added an access hatch to the aft part of the bed to access the water heater wiring and shutoff. I included space in the battery box for an additional 100AH battery. The Night stand and dinette tops are made from hardwood flooring I had left over from a past project. The Dinette top is smaller than original, and removed the slider; this makes the dinette much nicer even for 3 people. The night stand was made from the Wardrobe drawers and the top includes 2 AC outlets and 2 USBs. Mattress Insider made the mattresses.

Airstream692 - wow, that looks nice. I am really wanting to do the queen to twin thing. Once we actually get our trailer that is.

Thanks Airstream693 for the post. I love what you have done. The queen arrangement looks good on paper but is not very workable. There is no practical way for the person in front to get out of bed without crawling over the other person. How did you make the bed frame portions?

Hi DigitalNomad,

Thanks!
I really like the twin arrangements; it looks better and its a lot more functional. Not only is our AS used for me and my wife, but I use it for trips with friends. It would have been hard for me to have the queen all to myself and ask my friends to shoe horn into the dinette.

My Bath remodel was for my home....sorry I should have been clearer. We finally used the AS bathroom last week and I like it and see no need to change anything (except I changed the shower wand).

Hi Thomasd21,

I took the queen bed frame apart and focused on the finished sections (that matched the current interior) would be visible when completed (round corner and longer straight sections). A lot of the original frame was held together by pocket screws, i did the same with several other pieces. I used 3/4" cabinet grade plywood for some of the new cross members. The night stand was an important piece and installing that first helped determine the where the beds and support structure would be positioned.

Water leakage

We are in Oregon and it has been quite rainy. I’ve noticed water pooling on the floor at the foot of the queen bed. Possibly from the window but it appears to be tightly closed. I don’t see any “rivers” down the walls. Any idea where it’s coming in from. Trailer is 2019 23fb. Thanks!!
