How about sharing the details of the paint you used...

Ahhh. That’s a great little secret I found out last year while I was doing my battery up grade. I have used it for touch ups and it is a perfect match and I mean perfect in color and sheen.

P.S. Don’t tell anyone.

Excellent job.
And a big thanks on the paint. Another spring chore on the list, ie sand and paint the A frame area as its the only place that is looking a bit dingy.

Oh shoot! I was hoping for a little better "secret!"

I've bought two cans of that very stuff and while both cans are exactly the same color, they are nor the color of our frame n' stuff... quite a bit lighter in color. So, my nifty battery box extender doesn't quite match everything else. Maybe I just need to repaint "everything else" with this Rust-Oleum color.

Your nearest dealership also carries the paint. I’ve bought two cans now.

Bad news.

I found out today that my 23 is in need of a new fresh water tank. While summarizing the trailer yesterday I filled the freshwater tank..... this morning I noticed a slight drip coming from the inspection plate of said tank. Pump off and system not under pressure.
I removed the plate and took a look around and thought it was leaking around where the filler hose hooked up. So I drained approx 5-10 gallons from tank and leak stopped. So I removed converter panel so I could get a better look and all looked fine no signs of leak anywhere. Bottom drain, sensors, pump intake, filler hose, vent hose, low point drain, and pump intake all look great. Fill tank back up and it started leaking again. After a long afternoon of looking and removing I have determined that the leak is
(A) high in the tank
(B) not one of the many connections to the tank
(3) coming from the curb side of the tank

So it’s not a big leak and we are in camping season and I am not going to drop the tank without having another one ready to go back in.
I am going to order the tank. $235.00 with a month lead time.
Hope to get it swapped in one of the gaps in our travel schedule.

Anyone done this repair before. I’m planning a well documented dissection, and will be posting once done.

Oh no... what a terrible "surprise". Would never have expected a leak in a 2014 trailer... don't those things usually last nearly forever. I hate this has happened to you guys...

Thanks Rob,
I would think they would last forever also.
All I know is it that is has a slow leak and it is not coming from one of the4 connections on the street side of the tank.
Can’t tell anymore till I drop the tank and that’s not going to happen till end of summer (or till I becomes a problem I can live with ) and I have a new tank in hand.
Nothing I’m worried about doing just did not think I would be seeing the top side of my freshwater tank so soon.

My Best guess would be that one of the many pieces of trash screws or unused pop rivets that I have found throughout my trailer found its way into the water tank area and has worn a hole in the tank. This is just a guess but an educated guess

Well, Ronnie, if there is any bright spot in this otherwise gloomy story is that it will result in a detailed - and fully illustrated - "how to" thread here on the forum.

I hate that the "how to" will come at such a high cost to you in terms of time, effort, and frustration... and a few hundred bucks.

Dang

On a different - and more pleasant - topic ... Will your upcoming trip (leave April 20?) be your first outing with your new lift installed? I'll be very interested in hearing your evaluation of towing/handling with the lift.

No, I did the lift in Sept last year. We have been to Chehaw state park a couple of times and towed to Smoky Mtns in December. A little over 1000 miles mixed driving and I notice no difference what so ever other than now having 12” of air between my tank drains and the ground.

Sorry to hear about the tank Ronnie, needless to say am very curious to hear the cause.... makes no sense, other than your hypothesis, which would result in a terse note to JC. So many owners have found such a mess from a sloppy construction process. There is no doubt an issue in the management of the overall operation from all the sloppiness in construction. Wonder if the same applied before the Thor acquisition ?
As Ron notes (and sorry its at your expense both money and time), will be interesting to see what you find and your PE covering the process. Too bad there isn't a replaceable bladder you could easily install in the tank.

Re the lift, good to hear and I need to get that done before I head to Montana in a year +.
Strange that I have yet to hear one issue from those who have done the lift, yet AS is steadfast against it from what I have read and heard ?

Door "prop" for the vanity mirror

Happy Friday early-evening all... I hope every one of you have a great weekend!

I'm wondering if any of you have installed a door prop (or two) on the lift-up vanity mirror/door... sure would be handy. There are about a zillion variations of these things and - basically being unspeakably lazy - I'm hoping someone else has already done the hard work of researching the 'right' one(s) for this application .

So, what say ye?

Going to enter the belly of the Beast...

Well here’s the plan. I’m going to plan on replacing the freshwater tank between our Stone Mtn. GA and Disney trip. While I’m in there I am going to upgrade the tank monitor system to the SeeLevel system.
I will be upgrading the foam insulation to blue foam
Changing the fresh tank drain to a larger brass output (ball valve)
Also going to look at re routing the low point drain to come out the back of the tank cover
Any other things I should do while I have my babies guts out?

Hey everyone, been in London, just got back.

Ronnie, that’s a bummer. Can’t believe it’s only been 3-4 years and there is a leak.

I would be careful taking it down and be ready for pictures. My bet is that a screw was drilled into it. I have seen this before at work. Sometime it can take several years for the screw to leak after it’s been running down the road. If it’s a puncture or a small hole, you might be able to repair the tank. If it’s a stress fracture, I would replace with New tank.

I would just thoroughly inspect all the areas underneath and look for loose screws and straps etc. look for heater damage, floor rot etc.

Also be careful that you don’t pull or break any lines attached to the tank during removal.

Wish I could help you out.

Thanks Rich,
I plan to document the whole project and post here I’m going to have a new tank on hand and will determine the cause of the failure before I replace. You are probably right in that it’s a screw or piece of trash they let get in the tank cover and it has rubbed the tank.
