Thanks Rich. Good advice.
First I have to get her out of storage. Hopefully in a week or two. Snow should be done by then.

What's with the rear window??????
Why would an escape hatch have a screen on it?
And since there is a screen, why not make it usable window?
We have unlocked ours from the inside, opened it from the outside, and there's no way to hold it open. ????

I use an old chop stick to prop it open when I want it open.
The screen pops of very easily. For the hatch and the window opens and can be removed for egress.
I think it is a safety requirement and if it were set up as a normal window, it wouldn’t allow egress.

Seriously, if we ever drive by your state, I'm stopping by your guys place with a insert your favorite drink and provide me some hands on pointers I am slowly buying tools here and there so I can build up my 'tool shed', but half the tools I have I barely know what I can do with it other than the basic cutting and screwing Lot's of mad skills here for sure

nice work! I would hire you Ronnie, and I don’t say that often. If I could get you and Rob up this way I think we could give the AS dealership here a real run for their money on service and upgrades!

I was getting left behind in the upgrades department... you guys are hard to keep up with. Now that the weather has warmed up a bit, I decided to start my street-side awning project.
This is the first time that I used the kleckos that I bought about a year ago, they really come in handy.
Hey, I can see the reflection of my teardrop trailer in my Airstream!

Boog,
That looks great.
I did that project last summer and what a HUGE change it has made in keeping the trailer cooler in 100 degree summer days.

Keep up the good work guys.

Only difference I see is I flipped my track the other way (rivets on bottom) to match the instructions for the rear awning. I called Zip Dee and they said it did not matter. Either way was fine. I thought by placing them down under the rail and running a bead of sikaflex on top of rail they would have less chance to leak.
(I’m probably wrong) but that was my thought

We could defiantly run a top notch operation. Not sure we could make any money due to our over the top ways of doing things. (Our overhead would be to the moon)
But...... we could turn out some over the top mods. Just no one could afford us. Especially with Rob on staff. His present alone commands a premium only afforded to a select few.
I hope one day to have the honor.

New 'Folding Dinette Table' ~ The Second Version
OK, folks... with each passing day, I feel that I'm really out of my league here (Ronnie's generous compliments notwithstanding). The creativity and craftsmanship of my fellow 23D'ers just amazes me. And, the places you guys live in just blows my mind!
That said, I've been plugging along on a few separate projects, with one 'big project' gobbling up a lot of my time while Linda was two-weeks in England with our daughter and granddaughter.
Some of you may remember that some time ago, I built a dinette table that 'folded,' allowing for more lounge area and a small table (for breakfast and afternoon tea and whatever) and a larger table (for 'bigger' meals of dinner with friends). It worked. We liked it. We liked it so much that I wanted to build a second iteration with slightly different dimensions and with a curved end to match our new(ish) lavatory countertop.
So, while Linda was gone, I did just that. I am delighted with the result.
The table is made from 3/4" Baltic birch plywood with solid ash half-lapped onto the ends to properly hold the screws of the SOSS hinges. It uses four ball-bearing 130-pound rated drawer slides: two oriented vertically for support strength and two oriented horizontally to provide side-to-side rigidity. One of the most difficult parts of this project was using the Wilsonart (River Gemstone pattern) laminate on the edges of the table... the curves were heat formed prior to gluing; it was a pain, but it worked out nicely.
This time, I used the factory mounting hardware... the only change I made to the mounting was to replace the sheet metal screws with ' jack nuts.' Short of a collision, it will never fail. Also, just as with the factory table, my new folding table will drop down into the 'bed position' (although we two will never do that).
I posted a 'sister thread' in the general forum here: http://www.airforums.com/forums/f46/...ml#post2082321
So, that's my story, and I'm sticking to it. Oh, by the way, Linda is just as pleased as I am.
Now, back to my other, 'smaller' projects

Water Pump
Hi,
We have 2016 FC23D, and WP is hard to get to.
Yes, we could remove the door, but that itself is not easy because you have to unscrew the furnace vent tube from the door. And after the door is removed, it's still not that easy to work on the pump.
Is there anything else I can remove? For example, how about the floor of the closest above the pump? Is that removable? We recently had Colonial install a new WP, and I just can't figure out how in the world they were able to do that in such a tight space.
Thanks,
Atsushi

I wold bet the young, much more flexible technician was the one who worked on it. Us crunchy old guys have trouble contorting into tight spots.
