Here are the fans I installed while the Dometic was installed and not cooling properly. I now have the fans set to run whenever the Vitrifrigo compressor comes on and turn off when the compressor stops (using a separate relay for the fan's power).
Note that the single fan was the stock installation that basically failed to move any air at the bottom of the enclosure. Our three fan modification forces the air to come in the bottom opening, up across the back of the refrigerator to exit out by the fan action.
We have had produce freeze in the drawers in both Vitrifrigo units so set thermostat in mid travel.

Switz — thanks, so we have the same trailer, same refrigerator, and similar fan arrangement. You get frozen produce while I’m barely at acceptable FDA temperature for refrigeration and above acceptable temperature for freezer at 16 degrees.
My refrigerator came with the built in auto select feature for power. When shore power is available it will show preference for that and use its own converter to get the required 12v DC. I assume your setup is the same?
I feel like rear ventilation is not the issue as night time temps were around 47 and that should have allowed the rear compartment to be plenty cool for me to wake up to a refrigerator compartment temperature below 40 degrees on the maximum cool setting. But that is not what happened.
I’ll wait to see what my email to the vendor yields.

Sounds like low freon may be the problem.

I don’t think it’s the refrigerant as the compressor would run almost continuously and that’s not happening. In a prior post I gave some cycle-on and cycle-off times.
I’ve heard from the support guy at Vitrifrigo America and he did not seem to be concerned about the ventilation once I sent him my pictures and described the overnight low temp of 47 degrees.
I am on a business trip now but he wants me to call him when I’m home and I can be at the trailer with the refrigerator pre-cooled for some additional observations — but he did not say what they would be.

I pretty much agree. There only a few things that might make it cycle on/off without cooling properly: (1) if the system has a low-pressure switch like residential systems, it might turn off. But since it runs for some 16 minutes, this is really unlikely. Besides, it probably doesn't even have such a switch. (2) high temperature... most electric compressors have internal high temp switches. If the compressor is overheating, it might switch off. I'm doubting this, too... the cycle times you posted are too "normal" (usually overheating happens much quicker than 16 minutes, and as the unit ran, the 'on' times would become shorter, and the 'off' times would become longer. I'm thinking thermostat. The 'low-pressure switch' and 'overheating compressor' theories aside, the unit cycling off would indicate that the thermostat is satisfied, so it stays off until the internal temperature rises enough for the thermostat to call for cooling. Whatcha think?

I am in agreement that the thermostat seems to be the likely culprit but by no means am I an expert, or even a novice, with refrigerators. I’m hoping maybe a new thermostat can be sent to me for self-install without voiding the warranty. Probably not likely. I suspect I’ll need to take it to an authorized servicer.
I’m eager to see what the service guy wants me to try when I get home from my business trip.
Thanks, all, for your thoughts and ideas on this. I’ll post back with the results of the next set of tests/observations.

Left of it (on my model 2012) are two incandescent bulbs that are wired to the running/brake/turn lights. Why do you need hot little bulbs in that tightly packed little space? I removed the ducting and the bulb heat shield for this picture. Also in this mess of wires is a 1 amp inline fuse that goes to the LP detector. I’m going to poke around in here some more and see what else I can find.

I'm familiar with that hatch and the contents on my own 2013 23D. However I do not have the incandescent light builbs and I wish I did!
Here's why, because the tail lights and brake lights on my 2013 23D are LEDs, the lower power draw (or something about them) drive the "tail light burnout out" logic in my 2001 BMW X5 crazy. The car blinks the turn signals extra fast to indicate one is burned out. I suspect the draw from these incandescent bulbs prevents that.

That’s what I finally figured out – hyperflashing. The original owner of my camper did quite a few mods: added solar – led light strip under awning - upgraded subwoofer, speakers and power amp - put those lamps in the rat’s nest…
I disconnected and removed the incandescents because the led tail-lights don’t bother my 2001 Chevrolet. I am, however in the process of adding some extra stop and turn lights to my bumper and that would accomplish the same thing – except useful. They’re NOS Yankee Turnflex about 4” round red lens, chrome back – I’ll post a picture when I get it finished. I had to drill two ½” holes in the top of the bumper, but they could be easily plugged if the lights were ever removed. The way people drive nowadays, I want all the visibility that I can get.

where is the GFCI reset outlet?
Just watched a video from Airstream that mentioned the GFCI kitchen outlet, and that its reset was in the bathroom. The GFCI near lavatory sink has no reset, nor the one by outside door near floor, and outside outlet: no. Where's the hidden one with the reset?

Check the breaker panel. You may have a a GFCI breaker installed there. Mine is the one at the “bathroom” sink ( standard GFCI receptical) that feeds kitchen plug and outside plug. You may have a breaker in the panel that covers you. See below

Try one kf those small battery fans inside the fridgee to equalize the temps.

Once the 2-year warranty period is over on the refrigerator I do plan to add a 12v computer fan to the interior and I’m going to try to route the wiring up the same channel used for the water drain tube.
You bring up a good point that I’ve not mentioned in my previous comments, though. My testing did involve temperature readings from different locations and there really was no difference found. I suspect this was due to the refrigerator compartment being relatively empty. When it is fuller, I agree there will be a need to move air and that’s why I want to add a computer fan.
I know a fuller refrigerator will run more *efficiently* than one that is nearly empty. However, I don’t think this should have an impact on performance in terms of the low temperature that it is capable of reaching. My expectation would be that a fuller refrigerator would maintain the lower temperature with fewer on/off cycles of the compressor. But a more-or-less empty refrigerator should still be able to maintain the same low temperature although less efficiently with more on/off cycles of the compressor.
That’s my expectation at least. I might get schooled on that by the Vitrifrigo technician tomorrow when I call him at his request while I’m at the trailer with the refrigerator pre-cooled.

New to Airstream!
Thanks for allowing me to join this 23D Thread. We just purchased our first Airstream, a 2017 Flying Cloud 23D. We have camped our entire lives and looked at, been inside of several Airstreams, dreamed of owning one for many years and finally we are now proud owners of a beautiful Airstream. I look forward to sharing experiences and issues with you all, and look forward to your experiences and issues and how to fix!

Mocking up my solar install. Why am I installing solar you might ask? I’m not really sure. I have a problem. I love pittling with my trailer. And some one gave my (2) 100 watt panels and that got the ball rolling. Please don’t look at trailer. Pollen is everywhere.
