For that rat’s nest of wires, I found a picture from a blog: http://currentlywandering.com/2015/0...he-wire-panel/ that shows the wiring in a more convenient layout. I think that ours is pretty much the same, it’s just all jammed into a tighter space. I also noticed on mine that the blue power cord to the stereo amplifier is fused inside the cubby, but exits through the floor and connects directly to the battery. I might put a simple disconnect on it.
As far as the incandescent lights, here’s a post that I did: http://www.airforums.com/forums/f447...ng-163361.html

Cramped toilet

Thanks for opening this thread. We are complete newbies and have just purchased a 2017 23d serenity.
For some reason I never thought to actually sit on the toilet before buying. I'm 5'11 and it is impossible to sit on the throne with the door closed. I either have to twist with my legs half in the shower or have the door open. Not a great option when more than one person in the trailer.
We got around it by closing the screen to separate the bedroom.
Also watch out for the sharp edges on the door window. I snagged my down jacket on this.
Anyone else found this issue.
We also found that the water filter provided free as part of the welcome kit doesn't fit and requires a whole lot of extra attachments.

A great catch to find this phantom load on the batteries when boondocking, or when your Use/Store switch is in the Store position! The propane detector is another such phantom load which causes the batteries to lose juice too quickly. If you have a sub-woofer hidden somewhere it might do the same.
The late idroba also added a manual toggle switch to disable his radio, which had a "disco light show" eating up battery amps, just like ours.
Post #18 here: http://www.airforums.com/forums/f37/...ts-121105.html
We just remove the radio's face plate to kill it, like a car stereo. An on/off switch is on our to-do list.
Cheers,
Peter

Hey Rich and WaLee, it looks like you have 1 of 20 made in that original model. Here's a post from another thread:

Added custom bumper and battery box pads. These are made by a friend on mine and are an awesome addition.

While we were at Jackson Center last August I was able to purchase two extra door pulls and I added them to the two cabinet doors below the closet and pantry on the curb side of the trailer this allows us to store our coffee maker and toaster oven in the empty space beside the wheel well during travel great for extra storage and the handles make it easy to open then grabbing the bottom of the cabinet door and pulling it open. Please note in the last picture I found a schematic from Airstream that actually shows these handles installed from the factory # 15 and 17... but they do not install them.

I built a refrigerator fan bar using a piece of 2" x 3" extruded aluminum tubing and two small computer fans, and two plastic rectangle insert caps. There are two offset rows of 1/2" holes in the back of the bar against the cooling fans which allows air to be sucked in through the fans and blown out the back of the duct through the 1/2" holes circulating air very well inside the refrigerator. I ran the wire out the refrigerator drain hose and attached it to the 12 V supply in the outside refrigerator bay. This unit is silent, attached with Velcro to the top of the refrigerator, and takes up very little room inside the already small refrigerator. It also has an on/off switch that can be used to turn the unit off if you do not wish to run. This is a great addition as it allows you to run your refrigerator for an extended period of time without icing You can buy one but I thought what the heck I can make one and spend three times as much money.

The rats nest of wires.
When I did the solar upgrade, link in my post above, part of it was rewiring and cleaning up the nest from the factory. They leave a ton of extra wire and cram it all in there. In addition, don't be shocked if you look in there and find all kinds of scraps, garbage, and dust. They don't clean anything up.
Before shots of my nest:
Here is the after shot once I cleaned it all up. Note, the bigger black box is the connector box for the trailer lights and brakes to the umbilicals cord to the TV, or 7-way plug.
I know what all the wires do now, so if you need help, let me know.

Nope, but we did install the SeaLand 510... we had one in our ex-Casita and loved the full "rim flush" design. This is a much higher quality than the factory-provided one.
By the way, don't you just love the way you can aim the furnace grille to point [more or less] right at the toilet seat?
In the photo, you can also see that we had that awful-looking aluminum cover powder coated white.

Also, had curtains made for the side windows and the two windows back in The Queen's Chambers. Ordered the fabric, as well as all the track and other hardware, directly from Airstream.

Rob. What are the advantages of this seat over the factory one in your opinion?

GMFL, nice mods!
Regarding the lower compartment door handles, do they get in the way? Do you kick them at all? I was thinking about this, and thought the kids would just tear those things off..
Also, on the number seal, can you provide more info? Why did you do that an d what is the leak potential? Inside the trailer, or in the bumper box?

I'm guessing that you are asking about the toilet... the "rim flush" provides much better flushing with little water usage... the toilet seat is the same as a regular residential toilet seat (non-elongated). The SeaLand mechanism has a great reputation for reliability and long-life. And the thing just "looks better."

This bead of Sica flex 221 is to help prevent water intrusion in at the back of the bumper between the rear shell and bumper it was a common problem on older airstreams to have an issue with this Airstream inserted a seal between to prevent this from happening but I am a man of overkill. Rob had addressed this in a previous post on the forum see link below
