toilet flange
(based on what I read on the internet) the toilet flange may be threaded to the black tank, so you should be able to remove the 4 screws and rotate the flange for a better alignment. Here's a link to an rv.net post about it: http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fu...1.cfm#29321431
I hope that our tanks have a threaded flange.

Yep, outs was threaded. I used a new flange, but I can't remember why. It was pretty tight; I attached a short piece of 1x2 using the toilet mounting screws and used it like a wrench to remove the flange and short pipe.

Hmmmm. I tried and mine was glued with that yellow ABS glue. Maybe the late models are glued. Or maybe I didn’t try hard enough.
I may look again, and I might try and put a straight fitting in without the elbow to reduce pressure loss through the two 90 degree elbows.
Thanks or the input folks. Love the forums just for this.

One can re-seat the rubber “ball” gasket (which is a wear item to be replaced when it dries out and cracks or whatever). Our 2015 had the factory drawings showing an angled toilet. It was installed perpendicular to the wall with the flange forcing that orientation. Another undocumented feature
We are relatively short folks, so our feet do not touch the floor when perched for business. We angle our body so the door can be closed if the other party is in the coach, otherwise the door can remain open.
We carry a spare toilet ball now gasket in both trailers just in case. Usually that means it won’t need replacing as there is a spare part at hand.

Rich, are you saying that there are 90-degree elbows between your toilet and black tank?

Regarding us "short folks" when using the new 23CB toilet, we ordered and happily use this: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Makes life oh-so-comfortable when tending to important business.

We've found that from time to time, we need a bit of air circulation but, because of rain, we're not too keen on opening a window. So, whichever Fantastic Fan we run has to pull air through the open-but-turned-off other Fantastic Fan (following this? I'm a lousy explainer). So, I figured it I could reverse the front fan to pull air in, it would work in conjunction with the rear fan (pushing air out) for more air flow through the trailer.
|
So, the switch (see quoted post, above) arrived yesterday, and this afternoon, I did the modification to the Fantastic Fan to allow reversing. Super-easy, took about 30-minutes (including the time it took to cut and terminate a couple of foot-long "jumper wires."
I am really surprised just how much air the fan moves when reversed from its (as supplied in our trailer) factory mode... kind of like ceiling fan. And, with the trailer all closed up and the rear fan "blowing OUT" and the front fan "sucking IN," the air movement through the trailer is prodigious!
I elected to make only the front fan reversible... the rear fan is relatively close to the plumbing vent, so I thought it best not to run even the slightest risk of pulling smelly air from the vest.
Highly recommended mod... easy and cheap!

OK fellow 23D-ers, we really appreciate the kind consideration and possible deference to our situation with Linda's back problems. Nonetheless, you just can't try to schedule a possible get together of our little virtual Clubhouse around us and our very much up-in-the-air schedule.
Nope, go ahead and schedule the Tulsa (or wherever) gig, and if there is any way we can make it, we sure will. I will say that I can't see any way we could participate before October.
The get-together is a really, really good idea... you gotta make it happen.

"Patriarch?" Izzat another word for scrawny old geezer?
Seriously, you guys just have to do this.
Oh, we'll be at the Blue Spruce RV Park (here'tis: http://bluesprucervpark.com/ ). Our reservation starts August 13th and is for nearly a month. Of course, we have no idea if we will actually be able to make that. We know the owners well after all these years, so they would happily move our reservations on out to 2019.

Ronnie, there are other considerations beyond Linda's chronic back issues (although that alone is rife with unknowns and uncertainties). The late-August ~ early-September back-to-school time is key to Linda's business... a lot of activity, scheduling and re-scheduling, and re-re-scheduling (!), student evaluations and selecting - and purchasing - materials (music, etc., etc., etc.). All that kind of stuff. And, then there are our church priorities that get pretty intense in the autumn. Some people we know think that since is Linda is "just a little piano teacher" that she can just take off whenever she wants. Of course that's unrealistically simplistic. With a studio of some fifty students (about a third of which are adults) that's not a hobby, it's a serious business. Add to that her occasional performance opportunities and her "church job" and you can see that I'm working her like a galley slave. Even so, there remains a chance for us to attend.

Well I got my new 2014 23d home today and look what I found lol. Same thing! (Pic rotated 90 degrees). Crazy, it butts perfectly at the other end below the mattress where it isn't visible. It's too tight against the ceiling to move so it didn't slide down by itself. I cannot find a reason it is supposed to be this way. Closet ventilation ha? I think it's supposed to butt tightly up top, and leave the trimmed 3 inches down at the other end where you can't see it. That would save on material and every penny adds up. But the installers are not always positioning it properly when setting the cabinetry. Now I'll be staring at it every night when I lie in bed!

Rob thanks for the switch details. I'm doing that plus the variable control switch.
Isn't the Smart Plug nice? Such a solid connection. Had on my 23FB, it's on the list for my 23d. Question: On my 23 FB, the back of the outlet contacted the inner skin and I couldn't get the front flush on the outside. The wiring on the back of the outlet added too much depth. I wish they designed it so the wires attached from the side, not through the back, requiring that tight bend, don't you think? Anyway--I had to get my roto zip out and cut a hole in the inner skin to provide space for everything to fit. It was below decks under a closet so it was not a cosmetic problem.
Did the outlet, when wired up, have enough space between the skins to fit flush on the outer skin on yours? That issue caused it to be a much bigger job on my FB.

Finally had a chance to do some work on the AS this weekend. Removed the old batwing and installed a King Jack digital antenna, but did the easy install on the batwing mast. Found a neat app on my phone that will point to TV antennas and also for FM and AM. All good.
Also "just" finished installing a PD 4655 converter. All went well, a few challenges that the thread dedicated to that conversion cleared up.
So now ready to get some new batteries.
Did find a concerning issue, while up on the roof (for the first time, I have stood on a ladder for all the work so far, its a bit tippy up there, a word of caution should be given that the stabilizers should go down before going on a rood.. ) I noticed that behind my forward vent that the roof is sunken and causes a depression just behind the fan with a cup or more of water pooled in it from the rain we had yesterday. Appears someone may have stepped there which wouldnt have been smart. So, my hemming and hawing about to replace the vent-or not has been made since I need to fix that somehow. Thinking a block of rubber between the skins, or maybe a four sided cardboard box that I can slip in when I bend the roof back up and then fill the area with Great Stuff foam ? Will know more when I open the area up and take the fan out.
