Leaving the Clubhouse . . .
Sadly, we will be leaving the 23D/23CB clubhouse. Today, we finished packing up the trailer and tomorrow we tow it to the insurance holding pen for "total write offs." So sad. Our trailer had minor hail damage -- very tiny dings, but the dings are on 50% of the panels, so they refused to repair it. Our buy-back amount was too high, so we made the tough decision to let it go. We are heading out on Monday across the country Can-Am in Ontario, where our new trailer is waiting. It's bittersweet. We had some fun adventures over the last 10 years. The 23D was the perfect size for travelling. We decided to go bigger because we started full-timing last year, but I know we are really going to miss the 23D. Check out our blog to see our latest adventures!

Apparently, you misunderstand... this group is pretty much like "the mob," once you're "in" you don't just "get out" ... even if you change rolling stock!
Seriously, here's wishing you joyful full-timing!

A*B*S*O*L*U*T*E*L*Y The Maxim skylight is definitely a must. We 23-ers are fortunate in that the skylight opening is large enough to do tons of the "prep work" from the inside, working through the opening. I think the hardest part of my skylight installation was getting the old one to relinquish its hold.

We went with the opaque frosted white Maxim skylight as that lets in soft light with the least heat gain inside the coach of any of their lenses.
We installed two Maxxfan 7000K units with remote control. Only need one control as they all use the same "frequency" to control. Thus one has to be between the units and aim the control at the desired unit or they both respond.

Thanks a lot, guys. Because of y'all, I just bought a new toilet . I used pcskier's research and got it from Dyers, and GMFL's comment about not needing the sprayer and his step by step installation post http://www.airforums.com/forums/f142...ml#post1947456 - total cost: $199.96 delivered (in 5-7 days).
My latest easy project was to make a doohickey: http://www.airforums.com/forums/f453...tml#post191050
My deadbolt doesn't line up with the strike plate, so this is added protection from an open door on the highway.

That's two more in two days, lol! There obviously was a constipated demand floating under the surface.
I never noticed the $199 option without the sprayer. I would have went with that too, esp with the easy hack of using the shower spray if needed. So you beat me by 7 bucks!

A one-hour project... don't get many of those
That 'left over' Asian Sand Wilsonart laminate has been just staring at me from the dark and scary recesses of what-passes-for-a-garage-around-here, so this morning, I actually put some of it to use... a good use sez Linda, and that's good enough for me.

That fridge insert looks great! The Airstream factory should be watching this thread for ideas.

Thanks, Bob... this one was easy. I think that Airstream should really consider offering the folding dinette table... that's probably our very favorite mod... well, that and the new vanity sink and faucet that actually delivers the water to the CENTER of the sink. Yay!

That would be too much in line with Wally's creed about "Make no changes, only improvements." Seems that line of thinking has been buried in the bottom of the Thor business strategy, unfortunately.
Fridge looks great. Actually, the whole interior does. Very....well...serene looking.

Rob,
Top notch as always. Looks Great.
I have a small scratch in my fridge door. (Very small) but you know how I am.
This is a great idea even if I don’t match my Ebony Formica. Maybe look at Formica’s metal series.

The best deal I could find was from this online place called Dyers RV, $205.98, not tax, including spray assembly with free delivery. Ordered it May 8 and it was here today. I won't have my trailer here till Sunday probably, so you will probably beat me to the install. Let us know how it goes!

Well, Ronnie, I wish you had the pristine aluminum one that's presently resting under the bed in the guest room
But, I guarantee that you would like a "ebony" matching one better... a lot better!

Rob, your fridge insert looked so good that I'm going to copy it in my Flying Cloud. I just ordered a 4x8 sheet of Wilsonart Gold Alchemy laminate (cabinets and wall color) to replace my stainless insert. I hope that it'll look half as good as yours. Thanks again for helping me put more money into this trailer.

The 23D thread
Rob is the master at wood/laminate construction, quality, and aesthetics.
Rob, do you have to do anything special with the laminate or just measure and cut to the same size as the stainless insert?
Also, what’s the best way to cut laminate? I always seem to mess it up.
