I'm not sure Airstream understood my question to them. I was asking about the vanity sink and their reply referred to a basket. I'm no plumber but that sounded like the basket for the stopper in the shower. Maybe basket is the official plumbing term.

They said I could contact an Airstream dealership about a replacement or to use a household replacement, as long as the same thread pattern, size and it makes a good seal with the sink. It would probably be better if I just keep searching my parts manual for it. I will post if I find it.

An Airstream Dealership should be able to order a good replacement for that basket. Otherwise, I would imagine that a household replacement would work as long as it has the same thread pattern and size, and you can get a good seal on the sink. -Mike

For my sink replacements, I’ve looked for a bit bigger and higher quality. I used a deep round stainless bar sink on my last trailer. Large enough to soak and washout clothes. Ordered that online. I’ve been successful finding drain line components following the airstream plumbing at big box stores. The two go together just fine.

So, following our usual get-outta-town protocol on our way from Hurst to Colorado, we drove the 190 miles to Food left, Texas. On arrival, the temperature outside was 107 with a strong southerly wind. Inside the Airstream it was a much more pleasant 106 !

We're waiting for it to cool down in here a bit...

Oh, it'll probably cool down quicker if I close the two vents... that's so embarrassing, don't tell Linda

Thanks, Fishbyfly. We just got back from our long journey to the left coast and return by northern states. I have lots of things to work on. I'll check locally for the drain and stopper. If no luck there, I'll check the TX dealership recommended by RFP

In the RV section of Lowes I found a replacement. I can use the good parts off of the old drain to keep some of the "chrome" look. The old drain is mostly plastic anyhow, should look good. The bottom part was too long for my AS, the original is a good fit.

If I could do only one 'mod' ...

Greetings from South-central Colorado!

I just realized today, that if I could have done only one mod, it would have to be my redesigned vanity countertop/sink/faucet.

Making a new countertop with a radiused front edge allowed me to move the sink a couple of inches out away from the rear mirrored cabinet. Then a new Moen faucet puts the water right into the sink instead of barely down the back of the sink.

Glad you yours made it safely. I love that MOD. It may be in my future.

I just added an LED light strip under the medicine cabinet Saturday morning. I tied it to the bathroom vanity switch for power so it works when that switch is on.
My wife loves it.

Ooooo... I really like that idea, Ronnie. How did you route the wiring? Gotta have photos, of course!

Here’s a couple of pics. Super easy. I ran the wire between the closet wall and inside skin. “Mine” had about an 18th inch gap so I just “sleeved” the wire in a thick plastic tube to protect it from rubbing and then fished the wire over to the switch. You can work through the hole in the wall to the switch. Only problem I had was working wire around the tank vent that is housed in the wall.
I just used a piece of left over LED Tape for another project.

Only thing I’m no happy with is..... I used a dab of silicone caulk to prevent the wire from shifting around during travel and it was not as neat as I would have liked it...., but you can’t see it unless you are laying on the floor.
