A couple of pieces of aluminum angle with radius cut outs form the brackets. I wired in an ON/OFF switch inside the refrigerator compartment.
I had a similar arrangement in the Casita... worked wonderfully and without so much as a hiccup in five years.
Great Saturday project...

Thanks! I had purchased a fan previously, but discovered that it had an internal thermostat, which I did not want. Also I struggled with the computer pin-plug and how to transition to the 2 power wires...and also figuring out which of the four wires were the two I needed.
I noticed the ones you used have the 4-pin connectors as well. Can you share how you wired them up, especially with three of them in parallel?

Ah ha! Nothing could be simpler (Heck, I did it!).
Cut off any wire that isn't red or black. Tie all three red wires together and (separately) tie all three black wires together... I soldered them together, but I suppose a miniature screw type terminal block would work nicely, too.
Onto the three red wire bundle, I soldered single red wire (18 gauge as I recall) and onto the black wire bundle, I soldered a single black wire. Now, I've got a single red wire and a single black wire to hook up to the trailer to power all three fans.
The wires from the red bundle go to one if the terminals on the factory-mounted "thermostat" on the refrigerator fin. Then another red wire from the other thermostat terminal goes to a 12-volt positive (+) source (I picked up my 12-volts from the refrigerator terminal in the lower part of the refrigerator compartment). The wire from the black wire bundle goes to ground.
I inserted by ON/OFF switch in the red wire, between the fans and the 12-volt connection.
When I bought my fan, it was ONLY the fan... didn't come with that other "speed control" gizmo that's shown. Forget that thing.
Just think how good it's going to feel to pitch that factory fan!
Hope this helps.

Haha. My trailer is STILL at dealer for the door fix. They say they have never seen a door this out of alignment, and have been talking back and forth with the factory on how to fix. Dealer said AS doesn't like to replace an entire door, but they can't figure out how to close the gap. Oh well......

Just got back from Edisto Beach - with 8 people (6 of whom like to stay up past midnight and can sleep until noon) plus a 10-month-old, I decided to take a camper and park it under the house as my private retreat… the 23D wouldn’t fit.

IMHO, sanity is a) optional and b) highly overrated!

Can anyone tell me the dimensions of the standard gas oven, in terms of the inside. I have a pizza stone I need to trim to fit, and my trailer is still in the shop. Thanks!

We just were talking about this and my notes were: 6" high, 14" deep and 15" wide. Someone do please verify this just to be sure because I've known to be wrong

Looking in earnest: AC question
I am researching a new AS. I love the 23d (or CB). However I live in Dallas TX and will most likely be camping in and around TX. Is the one AC unit enough for you guys in Texas and whereabouts.
If not I may consider going up to the 25 or 26 so I can get a second unit.
Thank you

In Arizona, we have camped around Tucson in August. We're able to control the temperature quite adequately ( mid to low 70's) with the air conditioner. It was during monsoon season so was humid as well. I have never been unhappy with the ability of the air conditioner to control the temperature in the trailer. that being said, I've never taken it out when it's been 120° either.

I have had my 23D for a year now and used it in Texas often, first trip was to a park an hour from home, afternoon temps reached 103 one day. The A/C is a bit small for some days and will likely upgrade to a 15,000 BTU unite if mine fails but it will work well if you use a few tricks. I do not want the heavy bulky 50 AMP cord needed for the twin air units.
A few notes - when possible pick a spot where you will have some afternoon shade, the awning package is a must for areas of heat and abundant sunshine, a few insulating reflex teck shades cut for upper eyebrow windows and vent covers help a lot, I always put them in place while towing to minimise heat build up. There are a few other insulating tricks that have been covered in this thread.
I love the 23D, it is a near perfect size, I stay in a few places that a bigger unit would keep me out of.
Enjoy whatever Airstream you pick and welcome to the group!!

Thank you guys. I love the size of the 23d. I am encouraged that the AC is typically good enough.

I have been at Ponderosa Shadows (an Airstream only RV park in Lakeside , AZ) which is at 6,800 feet. A few weeks ago, the temps were in the high 90s as contrasted to over 110 in the Phoenix area, and the 13.5K stock A/C in our 2015 23D International Serenity ran continuously in the midday sun even with the street side, curb side and rear awnings deployed. It kept the inside around 75/76 degrees.
That 20 degree differential is about as good as it gets in a trailer environment. That means when it is over 100 degrees outside, one should be pleased if is is in the low 80s inside. If the A/C is started late in the day, it has a huge burden to reduce the heat soak of everything inside the trailer.
Note that too large of a capacity A/C unit will short cycle and and the interior will not be as comfortable.
We specifically found a 2015 23D as we did NOT want the ducted air system as we planned to have five 100 watt solar panels on the roof along with other antennas. They were still have issues from cutting slightly oversized openings which resulted in the ceiling air registers falling out.

SWITZ
What was your concern regarding the ducted a/c design as it relates to mounting panels on the roof? several have mounted panels on 2016 and later models.

I have a 2017 23D, with 500W of solar on top. No issues in installing. Switz shared the install of his panels and I planned to copy it. My roof top layout is different than switz, likely because of the ducted system.
Regardless, I got 500 W on top, and could fit at least 100W more if I wanted, maybe 200W.
I like the ducted system inside. It has worked well and seems to distribute cold air fairly well through the coach. Also, the duct covers look loose, and I know some have had issues with them falling out, not me. They have been fine.
I wouldn't let the duct system impact a decision based on solar panels on roof.... they will fit no problem.

I wish Ronnie ("GMFL") could ping in on this one... he either is - or recently has been - over in Palo Duro State Park (Texas), a well-known "hot spot" in these parts. I'm sure he will have valuable real-world tales to tell.
As for us, we've been from San Antonio to Moab and the entire Monument Valley/SE Utah area and have been pleased with our (non ducted) A/C. But, we're not cold-freaks, 80-degrees inside (with good humidity control) on a 100-degree day works just peachy for us.
