IF its in the driveway, it must be official.

Our new to us 2015 23D Intl Serenity is parked out front gathering snow. In preparation, I put new Bilstein shocks and tow mirrors on the 1999 F150. When we picked the unit up at Colonial after their inspection, an unforeseen problem surfaced. Apparently, when my 7 pin connection was installed, it was only set up with the same 4 flat pin connections as the existing connection. So.. I was thrilled to pay Colonial shop rates to have the things wired correctly. Note to others - have your connectors checked before you retrieve your unit or it can get pricey. I also hoped to exit the dealership with lots of daylight and to get clear of traffic for my first tow. The added delay for wiring the 7 pin blew that plane apart. Regardless, we arrived home unscathed. We are secure in the driveway with locked X-chocks plus rubber chocks behind the tires, a proven industries puck lock on the tongue and a latch lock. Didi I say I too am from the department of redundancy department? Although I have pulled the batteries into the basement, I am wiring a 30 amp RV outlet in the garage for future use. I have on hand for installation a Progressive Industries EMS-HW30C surge suppressor, TST cap TPMS, centramatics balancers and a voyager backup/rear view camera. Can't hardly wait for warm weather. That said, where did the JEDIs among you install your in-line surge suppressors? It appears that the plug is on the outside wall near the shower? Any pictures of the process would be appreciated. Thanks

Jim

The 23D thread

My rig has all the electrical panels and converter in a metal box hung from the rear dinette seat frame. Plenty of room in there for the EMS/surge suppressor box. I only have one power inlet at present. If I add a front inlet, I will install the manual transfer switch somewhere in the streetside galley area do I can get both existing inlet and the new one’s wiring to the new manual switch.
Once I get in there, and install/reroute wiring, I’ll post pictures

Look what we got Friday! Ordered January 5 and arrived at dealer February 5. We picked it up Friday the 8th. Now to go order a topper. Also trying to decide between a rubber mat or a bed rug of some sort.

Congrats on the new wheels! Also proud for your retirement. You have earned every bit of it.
Well done Sir!

Scott, what’s the payload on that sweet ride? Also, check out the bed rug, I love mine. It’s great with a topper and soft on knees and dogs paws. Plus it’s tough, can haul rock, mulch, etc...

Nice looking truck!

Thanks GMFL, I just left work last week, still feels like I’m on a vacation... I’ll get used to it. Haha.

Troutboy, my payload is only 2130#. I figured it would be higher, too many options I guess. Thats plenty of payload for my wife and I.

Sun!!

We are heading to Lost Maples SP near Kerrville Tx for a few days, Feb 12th through the 14th. It has been rain for a month here, growing webbed feet! Looks like a break for a few days so we are planning to take advantage of it. Anyone want to join us?

On the way home from Last Maples.

When we pulled into the small campground at Lost Maples there was a 23 there, had a nice visit with them and found out they live very close to us in Smithville Tx. It was a short but nice getaway, the rig worked very well, we made use of all the additional counter space and a few other mods.

Have a great weekend all!

So glad to hear that you had a good trip, I wish we could have been there with you.

So, we had a rare outbreak of practicality and cancelled our late-March reservations at Walt Disney World. Although Linda's back surgery in June was a success, she still has not regained her stamina and balance, so , all the walking that comes with a WDW trip just seemed like sheer folly. Maybe next year.

So, for a [much] less strenuous get-away, we are going to Petit Jean State Park in Arkansas in mid-March. We've been there once before and found it a lovely place. It will only be a week-long trip, but at least we'll get out of the driveway!

We like Petit Jean, had a picnic there last November and camped there as a teenager. The automobile museum near there was very nice.

We are thinking about heading back to Key West March 10th. That’s the plan at least.
