Replacement 23CB

We are planning on heading out early in the morning heading to Tampa to pick up our replacement 23. It really was amazing to see what we salvaged out of the Armada and the Airstream! Funny, we had talked about taking EVERYTHING out of the trailer and repacking and reorganizing when we returned from our last trip, but did not think it would be because of an accident! Thanks to this fantastic group of folks here we know a lot of items to look over before driving her off the lot and have a lot of mods to do in order to get it close to what we had. Good news about some of them is they may work out better the second time around! Will post a few shots when we can
Have a great week all.

3" lift photos before and after

Hi all,

We put on Sendel T08 15" rims with 235/75R15" LT C truck tires. These added approximately 1.5" of radius over the factory 14" rims and tires.

Here are photos showing our 23D with the up-sized rims and tires before and after our 3" lift--before lift views are on the left, after on the right. The last photo is of the rig.

This lifted look may or may not appeal to some owners, but it serves our purposes.

Note that we have a WD hitch, but we were just moving the Airstream around the yard and into the building for work, so did not use it. The rig would be more level and look a bit better had we made the effort to use the WD.

I apologize if this has already discussed here. It's a monster thread, and I can't go through it all....

Has anyone installed winterize kit, like this one?

As you know, WP in FC23D is in such a tight space and tubes are arranged in such a way that I'm not sure if this can be successfully installed....?

Yep, I installed this little gizmo a couple of weeks ago. Of, course, being who I am, I made a major production out of it: made a foam isolation mount for the pump and a bunch of other stuff which is of no interest at all to anybody.

The short answer is "sure," it will fit. It's pretty tight in there, but it certainly can be done. I would encourage you to do it... I've already winterized/un-winterized/and re-winterized this year. The Camco kit worked great.

PS: I would encourage you to read through the whole thread. There is a lot of good stuff here.

Wonderful. Thank you! I shall try then.

When we were contemplating on FC23D two years ago, I read most of it, but since then, it has grown significantly. I wish there is a way to search within this thread.

There is an easy way: toward the top of each page there is a "search this thread" tab

I have also installed one. We winter camp and it’s a great way to winterize on the road in just a few minutes.
We have also been know to run the furnace while traveling down the road to prevent the tanks for freezing.
But hey we are crazy

I store in a heated garage, hence no more winterization!

Last Winter I purchased this kit for our 2017 Serenity.

Because of the way our water pump is positioned, there was not enough room to attach the T-Valve to the pump. It just wouldn't physically fit.

Consequently, I ended up attaching the clear tubing directly to the water pump and putting the other end into the jug of anti-freeze.

At that time we were into freezing temps so I had to get it done.

I suspect that each AS is slightly different in this area, so you probably won't know until you try.

Atsushi, yes it can be installed. I physically could not work in such a small space so I had Colonial AS suffer through it. We (I held the flashlight ) unscrewed the pump from the floor so that the new valve would fit and I can turn it later on. Once installed, rescrewed the pump back down and all is now good. Works like a charm!

seeking Trailer cover information

Oh Hi,
I'm trying to figure out a trailer port for my 23D. Its parking space is a pie slice, with the rear end too narrow to put a 12 ft. metal roofed carport or a tarp covered frame. It has to be "temporary" or moveable in nature.

I was cruising through the 23D thread recently and I remember seeing somebody's Airstream protected by some sort of fabric "tent" cover. It looked like the fabric was slung on cables and attached only at the four corners with no other posts between them. I can't seem to find that photo again to check out that possibility. I'd appreciate somebody letting me know if that's their cover or if they have any information about something like that.

Many thanks-

Cindy

Cindy,
Can you post a photo of the area you are trying to utilize. There are a lot of smart people on here that I’m sure can help.
