If the last six inches of travel has remained tight after even a few closures, then something's amiss... and it is unlikely to cure itself over time.

Typically, what you are experiencing results from the sides of the cabinet not being parallel, and "squeezing" the slides as the drawer travels deeper into the cabinet. I would suggest the first thing to check is the distance between left and right slides at the front of the cabinet and the back of the cabinet. How about checking that and report back here... we'll get your stuff working right, sooner or later.

Did you use spacer blocks between the slides when you installed. The spacer blocks will make sure that the two slides are parallel to each other. You should do this on both sides. Probably the reason they are binding is because they are not parallel with each other.

I suggest spacer block jig method.

Frankly not sure why there are screws holding those parts together.

Fred,

This happens to us as well. I break a toothpick off in the hole and put wood filler in it, then reinstall the screw. This always works great.

Ok I have been working on this since my last post. First thing I did was measure the width of the cabinet. Seemed ok there. Then I checked the measurement on each side bottom slide to top slide. Yep way out of whack! I cut a paint stir stick for a spacer to get the top to be parallel with the bottom. Realigned right side then did the left side. All is parallel. Nope still didn't work! Figured I used to large of screws as the slide on drawer was catching on the screw heads. Replaced using smaller screw heads. Nope still don't work. What I found out was on the bottom shelf where the original slide is attached it measured 12 1/4" at the front and 12 1/4 at the back. Second shelf up the one with new slide measures 12 1/4 at the rear and 12 3/8 at the front. I am to frustrated to keep going on this tonight. I will sleep on it and recheck my work and measurements tomorrow. By the way I bought my new slide at the Woodcraft Store here in Roanoke. The first slide was to large so I exchanged it for the smaller one before I even started. Thanks for your time and help with this, Scott

Good news....not raining! Bad news the second drawer on pantry is 1/8th of an inch wider at the front than at the back. I wonder if they make a more slim slide? could I still have the wrong one?

Will take a picture of it Rob and see if I can post it.

Doesnt "appear" that these two screws provide any adjustment? Looks to be a tiny sheet metal screw (frankly looks like a wood screw) that holds what I will refer to as a metal block with almost a cross shape to it, on to the hinge part that is screwed into the cabinet. The metal block is what the door hinge part on the door clicks onto.

(man did I mess that description up )

Rich, thought I was with you on that, but now wondering if we are talking about the same thing. I sense that you are talking about the hole in the wooden cabinet frame or door ?

Wondering if this could have been a "repair" done by the PO?

Will be better if I can take a pic and post it as tough to explain.

Slide sounds right.
So I understand correctly is it the drawer itself is 1/8” wider at the back? Or is it the hole?

The second shelf of the pantry, the on that I attached the new slide is 1/8" wider at the front than the back of the drawer. I guess that 1/8" inch is why the drawer is real tight in the last 6" or so. I can close it and open it but it's to tight to leave it that way. The bottom drawer of the pantry is th same front to back.

Well I pulled the pantry out of trailer and set it upside down. Bright sunny day. I did this to better see and to measure the underside of each drawer and look what I found. The sides are pocket screwed to the bottom of each drawer with 5 screws. Then I think a screw or staple through the front of drawer and through back of drawer into the side. Well the screw through the front into the side blew out the side making it slightly wider. I was able to take all five screws out and get some sand paper in there to sand some out to close the gap. Then I put the screw back in and it drew the side closer. I then reinstalled the drawer. Still too tight at the last six to eight inches.

By the way I did make a spacer last night and made sure the slides were parallel. Replaced screws with smaller ones. I also measured the distance between left and right side, but tomorrow I will cut a piece of wood to get a better measurement between both sides.

Here is another pic of me sanding side of second drawer in an attempt in narrowing the second drawer of the pantry. I hope this is making some sense.

That small gap between the side and bottom is your problem. Mine is jam up tight.

Here's one more showing the side that's blown out and my attempt to relieve the drawer to make the side at the front match the back. I was able to accomplish this but the drawer still is to tight.

Anybody know if our 23d fridges have the heating element or is that just the ones with the separate fridge and freezer doors in the larger models?

I'm thinking now that the rear of the cabinet is more narrow by just a small amount that's why I will re measure the front and comparing to the back.

If that's not it maybe a smaller slide would work.
