Considering what it is... yes. If it had been something not as rare, still an AWFULLY good bargain...

Hi all! We would LOVE to share with you our success story of the day!! I also just posted most of this in our blog. Here was our (thankfully) uneventful day:

Jay took off ahead of us in the truck to go get the AS and my son and I followed shortly thereafter in the car. Jay already had the wheel on by the time we got there and was working on re-airing up the other tires. One of the other tires was going flat and Jay was out of air in the can, so we ran to town to get fix-a-flat and more air. We got back to the AS, jacked it up to free up the wheel, and put in the fix-a-flat while spinning the tire. It seemed to do the trick.

In the meantime, our friend who had told us about this trailer called, so we told him to come on over; we had a story for him!! The gentleman who let us park the AS in his yard overnight brought out his compressor so we didn't have to get more air in town. We hooked up and were ready to roll!

Needless to say, we moved out very slowly, with Jay following in the car and hazards on. I'm sure anyone watching would have thought he had too much to drink the way he was weaving around to get a look at the tires!! We stopped on the first side street in town so he could check all the lugs. All was well. And the rest of the trip was a piece of cake! No problems at all, other than holding up traffic. But we were still able to do 50 mph... not bad! Boy, was it a wonderful feeling to pull in the driveway at home!

We parked it behind the barn for now, and Jay took some great pics of the interior today. Most of the wood seems decent; just a few rough spots that will need to be worked over.

The kitchen cabinets are in fairly decent shape:

The bathroom is really solid, considering the age!

Here's the chest of drawers between the commode and bed (part of what makes this a WT, by our understanding):

And I LOVE the bath/shower! How cool!

So now we can rest easy; the deal is done, we brought her home, and she's safe and sound in the old cow yard. We hope to get her into the pole shed this spring when the mud dries out and we can get it over there since we're not sure when her restoration will actually begin (1 restoration at a time!). Jay is talking about rebuilding one of our out buildings specifically for redoing the gem! That's something we'll need to talk about.

I am SOOO ready for bed! I don't know about the rest of you, but I think I'm going to sleep like a baby tonight!

Planning to go through the trailer again tonight and look at every nook and cranny. It sure would be great to come across some of the old paperwork tucked away in a drawer somewhere!!
