Search the Forums for others' comments and experiences on replacing their old 14.5" wheel and tires. I don't think you should have any problem fitting the 15" replacements in your wheel wells, but first see what other who have done this say about their experience. Make sure the new wheels you purchase have the same bolt circle diameter and same (or slightly larger) size center hole as the 14.5" wheels. Take in an old 14.5" wheel for matching when shopping for 15" wheels. Good luck on your continuing WT journey!
Fred, that is not so easy on the 59 models. The hub face is slightly different than most. Some of us like that low rider look and 14.5 " are very easy to find if you look under "mobil home tires"

Some Pics for You!

Ok, here are a few pics from today's adventures:

Here's the route Jay and Kirt took to get it out of it's resting spot of 10+ years... that's some deep snow!

Jay tightening lugs once it was up on the road:

Hooked and ready to go:

Down the road:

Uh oh... stuck on the side of the road:

Thanks for the tire advice! Jay also had been told that mobile homes come with the 14.5"; however, we were also told that they're not very good quality generally, simply because they're supposed to get the mobile home from point A to point B, not necessarily built for traveling.

Jay dropped off the innertube; our friend laughed and said he had put innertubes on much worse tires than what we gave him! So hopefully we'll be good to go tomorrow. Once we get it home, we're probably going to have quite some time to ponder the wheels and which direction we want to go with them. There's a long road ahead of us before we actually need to worry about regular travel!

Crazy Day!!

Ok, so it's going to be a CRAZY day for us! Pray that it all goes smoothly!

I've been keeping 2 of our horses at a friend's house since Nov. as one fo them had surgery. Jay's been working frantically to get our barn set up so we can bring them inside at night; otherwise they just had a shelter. I'm supposed to bring them home today.

SO, I'm going to feed the horses, but will not clean stalls since they're coming home; run to Tractor Supply for bedding and a new water tank for the horses; hook up the horse trailer and retrieve the beasts; hopefully the AS tire is delivered during that time, and we'll drive up to get the AS; tow her home and "tuck her in" to her new parking place; then take off with my daughter for a 2.5 hour drive to look at a show pony for her. I'm already tired and we haven't even started!

But as long as we get the AS home today safe and sound, we're calling it a good day!!!

Two weeks ago today I brought home a 1957 Overlander. The snow would have been to much for my truck. I was real lucky that there were some great people helping with getting it to the road for me. A snow blower sure helps!!

Wally had one on the front of his International Harvester! You could put one on your back bumper just to watch everybody have a heart attack over rear end separation.

Here's my '59 GS150 - only off by a year!
