OK, so where's this blog posted? We're anxious too but I'm sure not as much as you guys. Maybe perusing your blog will settle the nerves. Probably not but worth a try.

We greatly appreciate the enthusiasm of all our Airforums friends!!

I have no idea if I've posted it exactly right, but if you click on our name (as if you were going to see our stats), the last tab of our info you can choose is "blog." If anyone has a suggestion of a better way to do it, please feel free to jump in! I'm not very proficient at it yet...

Just about there!!

Wow, Jay pulls out of the driveway in less than 12 hours to go retrieve the new family member!!!

Jay has done some more digging into the history of where this trailer has been, and a strange coincidence has come up: we actually know the nephews of one of the previous owners from the late 80's/early 90's!! You just can't make this stuff up!!! We'll have to leave full details in our blog once we've fit some more puzzle pieces together.

waiting... waiting... waiting...

One more pic... Jay took this picture of the underbelly today when he was at the trailer assessing the "exit" tomorrow. I think this sheeting looks better than some much newer rigs I've seen! We'll have to get even better pics of it to post to the blog.

In some of those pictures you'll see YOUR trailer parked next door to #9, Pop and Minnie Riley's trailer. (See the pics with Miss MO-KAN and Miss Minnesota.) Pop Riley was the WBCC's 1st National President. I believe that you can see Pop and Minnie in the photo with the little kid towing the little Airstream. #1027 Bill and Betty Taylor are on the other side of #9. Mary Ann Leuenberger was the California Unit's secretary around this time period and it appears that she may have organized a Rally in Death Valley and brought YOUR trailer along. This is just a wild guess, but I'll bet you a barley pop that the lady in the blue dress, beret and red umbrella standing in front of YOUR trailer is Mary Ann Leuenberger!

According to the 1960 Caravanette (Sierra Nevada/Pee Wee website), the "Rally in Death Valley" (I like how that sounds too) was to take place February 12-14, 1960. The 1960 Caravanette is an extremely rich and interesting read for WBCCI folks like myself for many reasons. Not the least of which, this historical document lovingly notes at its end the passing of Helen Schwamborn's mother (Pee Wee's grandmother).

Perhaps when you get YOUR trailer restored, she'll take you back 50 years to 1960 and Colorado Springs and Death Valley and over the next hill....

Congratulations once again!

I see her/the red umbrella in 8 other pics in that series.

She was there watching that parade for a while.
