I'm assuming it's vintage...

The model name, which will describe the length, is oftentimes found on the trailer, GlobeTrotter in this case. The VIN# is usually on the blue "Airstream" placque next to the entry door. Ours is embossed in the silver oval shape on the placque. Should look something like this:

If you can find the VIN, post the number & some folks here can help decipher it for you to tell you what you have.

This "Vintage Airstream Features" matrix may also help and you can find pictures to compare your trailer to in this "Vintage Photo Archive" or...post some pics!

Good luck...let us know whatcha got once you know!

If no plaque, the vin# is stamped on the top of the A frame tongue. In the past, I've had to use paint stripper and a wire brush to ID 2 AS trailers.

Excellent contribution...Thanks

Shari the matrix is a welcome asset. I did not know it existed. Well done. With room for additional info as you capture it.

How long has it been available and is the above the only link to it?
I would suggest a link from the home page.

I'm trying to figure out how to print it on one page (legal) of paper to add to my journal.

Thanks for the kudos Jaco, it's been a lot of work and I am glad to share it.

The matrix didn't exist to the public before this weekend's update to my personal website. It's something I have been compiling for several months and only lives there for the moment. I have shared this information with Andy to somehow use here on the Forums but he is still working on how best to utilize and integrate it. The first "update" for which the information was helpful was the sub-forums section of trailers & years.

Once again, patience is in order I know that's not your favorite quality Jaco, but eventually it may be linked to directly from a FAQ section or other location here on the Forum. For the time being...the link above (or one from my website) are the only access...better than not sharing the info at all...right?

BTW, I think it's to much info to print onto a single page as I recall, it's about 5...it gets too small for most to read.
