Hello,
I am TheManual. Many of you are familiar with me, but some of you may not be familiar with me. Im who you turn to with your general questions on operation of your Airstream. You will be seeing me pop up from time to time on threads on this forum to offer my assistance. Feel free to look me up if you have any questions.

Are your first names Ralph Theodore Fredrick? I've frequently seen RTF Manual quoted in times of trouble.

Pleased to make your acquaintance!

In all fairness, you are woefully lacking on some things. And others are difficult to understand in '70's-era typewriter font and faxed images & diagrams. I'm sure we all forgive you for never actually doing any of the things you instruct us on, we know you don't have arms-- you're just a book!

But welcome!!! Glad to have you around!

Dave

Cute : ). Looking forward to what you can teach me. I have met your cousins that came with my '17 Classic but really did not find them to be terribly useful but I am sure you will be an improvement over the rest of the family. BTW - welcome.

Hi and Welcome!
I complained to an alleged Airstream tech who happened to be at the dealer where I bought the AS. We were on our way home with our 2017 25' FC when the weather turned to 23 F in La. I was worried about freezing and bursting pipes. The tech said I was good to O. (?). I asked where the drain plugs were if I wanted to drain the pipes and he said "somewhere in the back where your bathroom is". My reply, in a confused manner because doesn't he know these things, "My bathroom is in the middle". To which he said "Read the manual". My comment was that it was too simple and did not give me enough detail. He said, "that is so we don't confuse you with making it too technical. You know we study for years to learn everything." That did it. I was especially offended since I am a woman. I really hope he wasn't an AS tech, because if so I was not impressed. And Manual, I think you need an overhaul. But glad you are here for the easy things. I did find the drain plugs.

Hey Manual;
Do you suppose that you could put some schematics, or clear drawings on the systems in your vehicles?
Such as clear and accurate drawings of the electrical systems (both), as well as the water feed and sewage drains of our vehicles.

Dear Ralph - could you perhaps influence the good folk in Jackson Center to talk with actual users of the product to see how you might get, uhm, freshened up a bit? I've often wondered, for example, why you aren't a PDF on a tablet with links to an Airstream YouTube channel with videos created by service techs and users describing and demonstrating concepts more naturally. And for that matter, why all your sibling docs like the 472 warranty docs and instructions aren't also digitized and included on that same tablet which could replace the "briefcase" of papers your readers get with their purchase.

Then later on we could talk about including an RV-GPS on that same tablet as well as great apps like AllStays and others - but it would be OK to walk before we run

It's nice to meet you, but I'm more excited to meet your maker when we visit Jackson Center later this year.

On a 43 year old trailer that has been modified several times some good and many not so good, I have no use for you. I can find everything I need in the forums. Well I suppose if I ran out of toilet paper? I might be glad to have you.
